"Remembrance day, WTF!"
"As a proud Englishman living abroad im shocked at some of the reports coming out of the UK. 2000 Police in and around Central London to stop any trouble, 24-hour guard on the Cenotaph to protect it from attack. Veterans told DON'T wear medals, military berets etc on the way to Remembrance services across the UK. Poppy sellers attacked; War memorials vandalized. This stuff is unbelievable, WTF is going on! UK,Dogs etc"

"There is a good piece written on defending the Cenotaph crowd by Ed West. Based on his other piece about 'respectability cascades', which is the phenomena of ""how when ideas or slogans become associated with low-status or disreputable people, those holding respectable opinions distance themselves from them, however much they might otherwise agree. "" Worth a read. https://www.edwest.co.uk/p/if-youre-thinking-of-defending-the"

From the mail: Fights break out as Tommy Robinson and hundreds of his supporters arrive in Whitehall shouting 'England til I die' Embarrassing. These dickheads actually think they’re doing a public service.

"Manuel 11:12 Sat Nov 11 Manny-Wanny - YOU care enough to claim that NOBODY cares about my ""wealth"". Bit Uri Geller that. To be honest, even I don't care about my wealth - so long as I have enough to live on I'm a happy bunny. Appreciate your obvious concern about my financial position though, but if I were you I'd be more worried about the encroachment of girly-bars on YOUR high street now that the Thai authorities are bleaching Pattaya."

Snide I don’t lie even on WHO. I spoke the truth as always and you bite at whatever I say because you are pissed at me turning you down for freelance design work. End of story.

"If the 500,000 who are going to protest went to Palestine they could help out Hamas ?üëç Nice to see Tommy and his boys on the march."

If there is any trouble today it’s more likely going to be from people who use the word ‘snowflake’ in everyday speech getting offended. I’d put money on the ‘football lads’ type people losing their cool first.

Depends what you think defines the club Willwall….nowadays it’s the support that does for me as the ownership has made it clear it’s his club to fuck up. You obviously haven’t kept in touch with your West Ham mates when you got your season tickets….I grew up with mine and they are my family & friends so there’s been no break from talking about West Ham as many of them still go and have season tickets and I want a better standard of football for them and a proper cup to celebrate winning. You picked West Ham I was brought up where it’s the right club to support due to geography and family connections.

They are not muddled up because there has always been a service at the Cenotaph on November the eleventh. It just so happens that this is one of the years when the two events are on consecutive days over this weekend.

"""You think you are as good/big a fan of West Ham as someone who regularly actually goes to matches??"" ---------------------------------------- That's a very good point that I could never work out the answer to Nurse. I would still go to games if I lived England. I choose to live abroad and in the past would have fond memories of WHU. Modern technology allows me to see more games a season than when I was a season ticket holder and did several away games a season. It's not the same but is cheaper and easier on the planet and rather than discuss with mates at the grounds we use WHO. It doesn't just affect expats either. Some of the biggest 'screamers' on WHO don't go to games and live near the stadium. Talkshite Miike and Snide of Ham for example... They think they are as good a fan as those that actually pay and go to watch games. Clearly they can't be I suppose?"

"Armistice and remembrance being muddled up here! I will be marching for Armistice this afternoon on the prescribed route, Our forefathers gave their lives so we could have a free voice and democracy."
