Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread - Preview
They needed two pens to beat spurs who had there 2 second choice full backs playing as centre backs.
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread - Preview
They were without almost as many players when they beat Spurs 4-2. Dunk is in addition though so that might help us since he is their “leader”? But the fact we struggled so much against the pressing of Liverpool and to a lesser extent Fulham. Brighton play the same way. I guess we are at home and I’ve been wrong about a few games where we’ve done a “smash and grab” job but we had Paqueta and Kudus. It could go any way I suppose

"4 league wins in a row is very rare for us, but hoping it happens."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread - Preview
"Massive game this, as it stands 6th place is definitely up for grabs this season.Looking at Brightons probable line up I think they are there for the taking what with there injuries and suspensions Dunk will be a big miss for them.Could be a dour game and our ball retention will suffer without Kudus & Paqueta as we will have no one who can carry the ball up the pitch keep possession or draw a foul.wouldn’t I just hope Moyes doesn’t play soucek as a ten tonight for his goal threat as the midfield balance has been better with JWP at ten and soucek deeper alongside Alvarez who himself seems to be getting stronger as the season goes on and coincides with him only have one yellow in the last 5 games."

"Yes OneAll, I do but that was back in August. ""West Ham STRUGGLED FOR POSSESSION, but DEFENDED SUPERBLY, sitting in a 4-1-4-1 low block and giving their previously unbeaten hosts a thorough beating ON THE BREAK. Even when the defence was breached, Areola was unbeatable behind them, while the speed at which the Londoners burst forward was thrilling and hugely effective."" Not my words but that of the official website. Nothing has changed other than Brighton have got better since then."

"I expect Moyes to use his normal boring tactics. Sit back, defend and rely on the odd break-away to 'hopefully' grab a goal. This has been his preferred game plan all this season and I don't expect it to change. It has worked against some good teams but I don't feel his plan will work against this Brighton side. Even more so without Paqueta and Kudus. One can only hope. Some ugly viewing coming up I think."

"I think some of you lot are still drinking, never mind hangover. You think he will play any U-21 players, Mubama, Cornet and Bowen up front. Really. All this praise for Moyes is quite honestly ridiculous. 2 good results against a shit man utd and wasteful Arsenal dont overide the previous shit shows against Fulham and Liverpool, 10-1. we may be temporarily in 6th spot but we are not only missing key players we are also playing Brighton. You know the Brighton team that we have beaten ONCE in 13 games. Still, what do I know, COYI lets smash the umm, err what is the correct word nowadays, LGBTQWXYZ+ supporting them/theys."

"Judging by your previous posts on this game you pretty well agree with Russ....... RM10 6:50 Mon Jan 1 Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread - Preview Paquetta took some time to reach his 50m potential, move on I have, he will be gone soon so enjoy him. RM10 5:23 Mon Jan 1 Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread - Preview Here is where a couple of the U21s could help out, Mubama should play and have at least Marshall and Coventry on the bench. RM10 11:34 Sun Dec 31 Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread - Preview Sitting on the fence draw, tough one without those key players."

Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread - Preview
I wouldn't get so comfortable with the fact that they have players suspended and injured. They have some excellent young players that schooled Spurs. They all seem to play the same way. That's De Zerbi for you. No doubt he influences exactly how the U-21's play. Unlike Moyes who appears to be disconnected to our youth set up.
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread - Preview
"I watched them beat Spurs 4-2 and most of the 11 missing today were missing then. All schooled to play the same way, fast press, possession, lots of movement tge very thing we struggled with at Anfield but not so much at Arsenal who played at a slower tempo. No Kudus worries me as they have Estupinan back who is rapid and Coufal will re help"
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread - Preview
"ludo21 Agree with all that. However Johnson,Mubama and Coventry can all take part like they previously did. The U21's haven't played over Christmas so will be fresh. If Marshall and say Orford started against Bristol City then they would be buzzing 2 days later to play again. Can't see any of them tbh not being able to play 2 games in 3 days. I can Antonio on the bench tonight and a start on Sunday."
