"...""a young, white, skinny male dressed in a black T-shirt""... The Belvedere ""Edge"" servers of both Sky News and the BBC have not been updated to reflect that update (yet, admittedly). Where is that new eye-witness statement reported?"

Say what you will but this Gov't has lost control of the streets. I can't ever recall the streets of London being this dangerous. I wonder what changed?

Not sure about 'kangaroo court' but the purpose of the current sessions are to send a message as much as they are about justice. The authorities know full well the sentences are likely to be reduced on appeal - but by that time the message to would-be rioters will be clear. Job done.

"Good to note that ""Abdullah"", a young male, was present to assist the victims, thus cementing his role as ""Hero of the Piece (or Peace if you prefer) here and was able to identify the victims sex and ages, and the age, but not the colour, of the attacker he helped subdue."

"The Civil Service, which supports both the judiciary and government is infested with left and far-left ""thinkers"" incapable of leaving their politics at their respective workplace entrances. Don't be surprised if the Chinese Walls in certain areas of that singular Civil Service are very, very thin, and the ""advice"" to the judiciary is to come down hard in favour of the government (Don't forget annual bonuses are up for review soon, son). Additionally, those identified as ""askers of difficult questions"" will experience previously non-existent ""issues"" in their dealings with services offered by and on behalf of the government. When challenged, these ""issues"" will be revealed as ""We're just following an established process which selected your account at random for verification checks"", or simply ""A glitch in the system following an update by an outside contractor"", none of which are actually illegal but regarded as a useful reminder of who has the power around here."

"Can we add Yves Bissouma to the fast track court hearings? The 27-year-old posted a video of himself on social media on Saturday which showed him inhaling from a balloon. Possession of nitrous oxide - also known as laughing gas or NOS - for recreational use has been a criminal offence in the United Kingdom since 2023 and can result in a two-year prison sentence. ""We are looking into the events,"" a Tottenham spokesperson said. ""This will be dealt with as an internal matter.""ù SURELY ITS AN OPEN AND SHUT CASE"

"Those being sentenced now have repeatedly expressed the position that they are only defending Britain from what they regard as an existential threat. They have probably done so in court as well. Any judge is therefore issued with a challenge to agree and serve the defendant's cause or disagree, making it clear it is the criminal justice system the judge represents in its criminal case against the defendant that has the task of defending Britain. Not him. Hence the harshness of the sentencing."

", 4:10 Mon Aug 12 Wrong. The judiciary is not fully independent of the executive. In fact, the highest legal ranking member of the executive (attorney general) sits in cabinet. We also have a Home Secretary and a Justice Minister who work hand in glove with the judiciary. And we also have a Prime Minister who was a human rights lawyer and former Director of Public Prosecutions. It is YOU who is gullible if you think the judiciary acts fully independent of government influence."

"An 11-year-old girl and 34-year-old woman have been stabbed in London's Leicester Square, the Metropolitan Police has said. In a post on X the Met said a man has been arrested and is in custody, adding the force does not believe there are ""any outstanding suspects"". The two victims were taken to hospital and their condition is currently unknown, the post continued. Police officers remain at the scene, which is in one of the busiest tourist districts in the capital."

", 4:10 Mon Aug 12 Was the Belfast judge applying any of the discretion he is afforded in his day job? Perhaps the same discretion he applied in similar cases in the past? People need to stop taking things out of context if they want an adult discussion on this. Given the timing and context I suspect someone has had a word in his ear about, maybe, who is expected to be included on the King's New Years' Honours List..."

"COYI, you do realise that the judiciary and the executive are seperate entities and thus the Judge in Belfast applies the law as it exists. That being the case if you need to blame anyone it is the lawmakers of previous UK Parliaments. Shame on anyone too thick or gullible to know how the world works. By all means feel free to attack Starmer, or anyone else for that matter, but realise that your posts are read by the sentient as well as people of your ilk."
