Just cannot see a way out of this if Soucek is the holding midfielder.  Paqueta needs to transform into Rodri !!!   Oh yeah, he has but its the injured version of Rodri

Worth noting this team has 5 of our summer signings starting, with a further 2 on the bench.   Very little of what Moyes built left here.

Be interesting to see how Soucek does in the DM role tonight...he's got the positional sense and intelligence to play the role but lacks the pace to get out and cover for overlapping fullbacks (so hoping we've re thought that and going to keep the full backs deeper to allow the more progressive mids we have to push forwards and support the attack.

Wan Bissaka staying in the back line, with Emerson inverting would be a decent start.

His nuts would have frozen off by then.

I'd like to see Guillerme given at least half an hour to see if he's a player. Hopefully we're still in the game if he does get a chance.

We don't really have a defensive mid playing tonight and I don't really see how we out-gun them. That looks like what we are set up to do though. Desperate times call for desperate measures, I suppose.

Well it's the closest we have to a mobile, ball controlling midfield (except for maybe Alvarez for Soucek...but Soucek is more disciplined to play alongside the other two). 

Fair play to Lopetegui for having the balls to go on the offensive here.
