Sorry the post is late up.

After what feels like an age since we limped past Burnley, we're off to the seaside to take on many peoples favourite second team, Bournemouth.

All hussle, bustle and high intensity, Iraola's mob are the modern watch word for modern style, and there is plenty to be concerned about with talented forwards and great energy in the side.  But they've lost the last two, comprehensively against Villa, and if there is a good time to play them....maybe it's now.

After the last international break, Nuno went full Looney Tunes....let's hope for a modcum of sense this time around.

Predicted Lineup:

Hard to see beyond a team similar to the last few games, but with Paquéta suspended, all eyes will be on who replaces him from a squad devoid of any real creative influence.

No doubt the temptation will be to shoehorn Soucek into the side, but against the high energy Cherries, it surely has to be Magassa, with Fernandes pushing forwards.Subs: Hermansen, Mavropanos, Igor, KWP, Soucek, Irving, Kante, Guilherme, Earthy

Predicted Score:  A desmond.....2-2  (Willson, Soucek)

A point would be a decent result, I'd take that.

Surely Summerville is injured or disciplinary. He may have lacked effectiveness but that pace off the bench has to be worth something.

while Lucas Paquetá misses out through suspension and Crysencio Summerville is not in the squad.

Interesting to see Guilherme right in. That looks like probably the best line up he could have gone for in terms of who is available. He’s made some good decisions since Leeds, let’s hope that today is a continuation of that. 

Back three, mmm, or maybe Igor is our new Declan Rice in midfield!

Also Soucek to come in about 60th min to score the winning goal.

I also think we will get something and play well, giving Bournemouth a serious game. I think and hope it will be Stubbos team to start.

Although Paqueta is a pretty much guaranteed starter but a forced change, I’m hoping that it’s one of those changes that the manager wouldn’t have made but stumbles onto a slightly different system that works for us, maybe too early for Earthy, Magassa, Kante or Guilherme but until you give them a start who knows? Paqueta has been more miss than hit for quite a while but looked better last 2 games. With Potts and Fernandez stepping up it gives someo a chance to put pressure on Paqueta who’s off at the end of season anyway. Interesting to see how much NES wants to win, or perhaps he’ll maybe just go with what he thinks is safe , hope not. Soucek winner after a tight game would be great.

Has Nuno truly learnt that we need “legs” more than reputations and experience when starting games?

Case in point will be Magassa versus Soucek or Irvine to replace Paqueta.  Ok we still might struggle dealing with Bournemouth’s relentless running and pressing but IMO Magassa is the far better bet to take to start the game when Bournemouth players are fresh and full of running.  

 

Can't see us getting anything here unless we just soak up 88 minutes of relentless pressure and get a late smash & grab.

Even  though there have been signs of improvement I’m afraid that their attack will be too much for our slightly suspect back line.  But if NES can bring about a result from this fixture then I might just start believing in him.
