NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"TM - agree with those draft focuses. The other thing that Saleh could do, today, to improve the Jets is to start calling defensive plays. He needs to trust his own ability/history. One of the reasons I'm so massively disappointed in Saleh so far is that he is probably the best defensive mind at the franchise (all things are relative!). Yet he's left a lesser coach in charge of defense. He has no offensive expertise, was a successful DC and should have bought himself time as HC by shoring up our defense first - while he learned the rest of the job. Instead, If we start badly next season, he's probably for the chop at the end of 2022. So he hasn't helped himself. Which really is not clever and begs a lot of questions. He'll need to go 7-10 or 8-9 next season to keep his job. Possible, but (in a division with Belichick, the Bills and the improving Fish) I can't see that unless he drafts superbly in April."

"I think you drafted two good weapons in carter & moore. I watched the game against the eagles and you later pretty well but were weak against the tight end goddart. he should target a decent couple of linebackers and a good strong safety, it would instantly improve you"

Grump - there has been no improvement whatsoever so far. Zilch. Nadda. Believe me. It might arrive. But don't hold your breath.

"Fair point, Isaac. Although when two of those wins have been against us, I wouldn't be celebrating too hard! We are god awful, yet went in 17-10 up at half-time: our first half-time lead this season!"

"And I am fed up hearing Saleh's regular refrain: ""there were some positives to take from this defeat...""ù We've been hearing that from every coach since 2009. Worst record of all NFL sides since 2010. It all feels like the Cleveland Browns did for 25 years!"

"Yet more utter shite from Saleh's Jets tonight. Getting regularly walloped by a poor Fish side is a new low, even for us. This coach is a complete fraud and WAY out of his depth. Same old, same old."
Re: NFL (since 2016)
As a Jets supporter it was great watching the Pats get stuffed last night . Good watch .

"we could have competed anyway, all our running backs were available. the qb you're talking about was doubtful anyway with knee/shoulder problems. this doesn't help any cսnt other than those dallas shithouses"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"The Eagles are up in arms about it and the Football Team aren't saying a word. I know every silver lining has to have a cloud but Football Team had over 20 players out including the QB for Sunday, now they have the chance to get them back. Yes that means they have a smaller gap with the next game but it at least gives them a chance of competing against the Eagles. The Eagles get nothing out of it."

On balance Washington done better with it because they have been done a favour for the Eagles game. The Eagles are fucked both ways.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
The NFL is a joke. Moved the Eagles to 7pm Tuesday and they play the Giants the following Sunday. There is no way the Eagles should be punished when it is Washington who have the Rona outbreak.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
Thanks for that SBBnB. I was hugely excited having read the press release until I realised shortly after the initial onset of euphoria that I had no idea what the 300+ words had actually told me. Now I know I am unexcited in equal measure.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Isaac, It really just allows teams to place their merchandise inside various UK outlets in ways that won't breach the NFL's rules on equal access etc. So you'll now see a disproportionate amount of Jets, Fish, Jags, 49ers, Bears and Vikes stuff in UK stores. At a push, they'll be allowed to open bespoke merchandise stores in London etc. No surprise to see the Jags on that ticket: NFL still entertaining the (foolish) idea of a London franchise. There's some other weird digital shit that goes along with it, too. And every now and then, an obscure linebacker on the Fish's practice squad will turn up at a school in Hackney and BBC London will get very excited while the kids all look underwhelmed because it's not Tom Brady. It's basically NFL puff-waffle. I'm surprised they've allowed the Jets and Fish the same open access to the same market. Maybe we need the fans?!"
Re: NFL (since 2016)
Can someone please explain to me what this Home Marketing Area Programme is about and why I should be excited that the Dolphins are a UK allocated team? I have read the press release twice and I cant fathom it...
Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Burnsy - the NFC is such a weak division this year that, despite having as bad a season as I can remember in many a year, my mob still have chance of getting a wildcard spot. An maybe (just maybe) are getting into a run of form at just the right time. Big games against the Rams and the Cardinals. Although we're equally just a likely to lose to the Lions, such has been our unpredictability so far"
