Daily Quiz anyone?
"If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells? I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature. I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers. You mark your own answers and post your score. I will then record the scores and at the end of the ""lockdown"" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves) Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions. Any interest?"
Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
"Yeah I know what you mean, I built mine from scratch about 2 years ago, brand new case, m/board, graphics card and ssd and a couple of hdds and it has more lights than Blackpool."
Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
"Cough, yes it's a possibility as recently it was not firing up enough so I left it on and overnight it crashed. Took front off but the button had vanished! Taken it to repairer to get new case and anything else it needs. Had a new motherboard and graphics card last year. Bit like Triggers Broom!!!"
Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
Gents. Normal quiz suspended today as the start button on my PC has died so can't access quizzes. So off the top of my head today. Playing Sheffield United this week and of course they moaned and got compensation after our Great Escape several years ago. Name as many West Ham players as you can who played any part on the pitch in that famous 1-0 win at Old Trafford on the last day to keep us up that season.

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
"This is why I love doing this quiz. Learning shizzle answering the questions and researching them for my Thursday quiz. (Though a lot of the questions I write are things I just know. Unkess like today a queation or fact gives me an idea for a topic and I have to look a few things up. Knew quite a few though. Like the moon, sun, west ham and bizarrely the new Zealand one)"
Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
I thought it was about 40 and when you think that Brighton to Glasgow is 461 miles I felt a bit of an idiot!! Suspect living on what is a relatively small island doesn't help you comprehend large distances.
Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
"Ok here’s the tolerance in miles. You want km. multiply the miles by 1.6 for km 1. Paris to Berlin 545miles (878km) 436 - 654 2. San Francisco to Los Angeles 422 miles (675.2km) 337.6 – 506.4 3. Boleyn ground to London stadium 3.1 miles (4.96km)2.48 -3.72 4. Dundee fc to Dundee utd ground 200 yards (183 m)160 – 240 yards 5. Lands end to john o groats 603 miles (970km) 482.4 – 723.6 6. Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
"14 for the kids stuff How far is it from... (20% tolerance either side allowed for.1 point. Exact distance is 3 points each) To work out if you are within tolerance either multiply the real distance by 1.2 or 0.8 Eg 545 x 1.2 = 654 and 545 x .8 = 436. So anywhere between 436 and 654 miles gets you the point for q1. If you are struggling with the 20% tolerance, let me know and I’ll work out all the numbers 1. Paris to Berlin 545miles (878km) 2. San Francisco to Los Angeles 422 miles (675.2km) 3. Boleyn ground to London stadium 3.1 miles (4.96km) 4. Dundee fc to Dundee utd ground yards (183 m) 5. Lands end to john o groats 603 miles (970km) 6. Earth to the moon 238,855 miles (384,000km) 7. Earth to the sun 93 million miles (149.91 million km) 8. New Zealand to Australia 926 miles (1491 km) 9. Dover to Calais 26 miles (42km) 10. Hawaii from mainland USA 2400 miles (3840 km) 11. Moscow to Chernobyl 433 miles (697km) 12. Argentina to Falkland islands 250 miles (400km) 13. Los Angeles to New York City 2445 miles (3936 km) 14. Tokyo to Beijing 1300 miles (2092km) 15. Manchester to Liverpool 35 miles (56 km)"
