"Taking to Twitter, the Italy international wrote: “Dear West Ham. “While my time in London didn’t go the way I had planned, some of my greatest life moments were made here. And for that I’m forever grateful Thank you to the players and staff for making me feel so welcome, and the fans for their continued support. “I will continue to support this fantastic club from home in Italy, and will be keeping in close touch with the lifelong friends I have made whilst in England Thank you for everything, Ciao.”"

"COYI He has scored 10 goals a season for 3 seasons in a row, yes it's double figures but it's hardly prolific. Tomas Soucek managed to match him in one of those season. Carlton Cole has scored 10 goals in a season and strikers that have scored more premier league goals than this include Harewood, Zamora and Wanchope. He overtook Di Canio (who took half the amount of games to reach his 47 goals), Mark Noble and Carlton Cole as the clubs record goalscorer. Hardly in esteemd company there. The only reason that Antonio stands out and has these records is because of how incredibly poor we have been up front for the vast majority of our time in the Premier League."

"haha manuel, with your fickle bollocks. scamacca has more ability than any striker we've had since ashton so why should he be rotated for an inferior player? he'll get plenty of game time but the big man should be first choice I come on the swiss, you can fuck right off you clueless fucking cսnt"

"I thought Scamacca was excellent Saturday and we were worse when he went off, but a lot of that due to Moyes negativity. He has scored one more goal this season than Antonio though and played 100 minutes less. Yes Antonio did change the game when he came on at half time in that match. But I would trust Scamacca more to finish a decent chance, nice to have both options though."

I'd like Moyes to start Scamacca and with Cornet injured play Antonio on the Left - we'd get the best of both hopefully.... But is Moyes too stuck in his ways to try that?

"It's very typical and fickle of this board to put down our top scorer and one of our best players in recent years, and to champion a bloke who may become very good for us but has only got of to an okay start, albeit not all of his own making. It was only two weeks ago that Antonio replaced Scammaca at half time and looked on a completely different level to him and changed the game. Some have conveniently forgot about that, it appears? A bit of perspective needed here me thinks."

"Yeah, let's bench our highest scorer since we returned to the Premier League, who has got double figures in each of the last three seasons and make him a cup player. Idiot."

"Antonio is a 'if I'm in the mood"" type player, if he's not in the mood, we're a man down....."

"Antonio is just so frustrating. Reminds me in some ways of Masuaku in that he can pull off a world class skill/shot etc one minute and then look like a sunday league player in the next. I don't even think he works as hard as he used to. He runs a little but he's not throwing himself around in that front line like he did at his best. Maybe this is because he has been told to keep himself injury free due to the lack of any support/back-up lately but if so you would expect that now that we have another option he can do a bit more of what he does best and bully defenders. Either way, Scamacca's arrival SHOULD benefit not only Scamaxxa himself, but Antonio and the team all round. I can't see Antonio forcing his way into the team as first choice striker once Scamacca is settled and if he does then that can only mean that Scamacca has not reached ours and the clubs expectations."

"Need to see a bit more of him to form a real opinion. I'd still give Antonio the nod over him, but yea fingers crossed with this bloke."

"He is looking very promising. Looks after ball, passes well and his finishing looks pretty good. I would be tempted to play him up front and see if Antonio doing his careening shopping trolley thing on the left work with that."

Surely we could see them both upfront at some point in the game and see what happens. As when Antonio replaced scamacca it resulted in these long balls and our game seemed to breakdown somewhat.

Added bonus is having Antonio coming on last 20 mins against tired legs.

"Appears to have a very decent shot on him and I like his all round play. Has to be starting league games now, Moyes surely can't hold him back any longer."

Looked worth the money today and great to see him celebrate with a smile on his face unlike the moody Haller. Going to be well worth the investment.

"Was probably MOTM last night from what I saw. A much more effective CF than Antonio, scores and creates, good technique, holds the ball up well, must start against Villa!"

"He has taken both his goals really well, despite the level of the opposition you still have to put the ball in the net. I will be seriously pissed off if Scamacca doesn't start against Villa ‚öí"
