Re: The war in Ukraine
"Come on SBT3 - it’s time you made a proper case showing how Ukraine would benefit from surrendering to the Kremlin and abandoning its attempt to join NATO and EU. Also you might want to explaine why we would need to stop supporting Ukraine in that endeavour. Come on you middle class whiteboy Gandhi, show us what you’re made of."

"Sounds like reality is starting to dawn on a few people now. Money will not help Ukraine's military, in fact its likely to make it worse. Better to get round the table and agree terms now, in a few months, the terms will be worse."

"If Ukraine makes peace with the Kremlin on anything but its own terms, it is back in the Kremlin’s orbit and never joins NATO and the EU. There really is no point arguing with wankers like SBT3"

Re: The war in Ukraine
"‘Biden did what he could, though the western effort in general has been disjointed and insufficient.’ No amount of money from the West is ever going to win Ukraine this war. Zaluzhny admitted there isn’t a technological advantage to defeat Russia. They also clearly don’t have the man power. The sad thing is when diplomacy eventually ends this war, Ukraine will be far worse off than had it rightly been stopped in the first couple of months. Something the West advised against, along with the ‘to the last Ukrainian’ warmongers on here."

"Ukraine has been invaded and its people have suffered in a manner beyond your darkest nightmare, Fatso. Can you explain how it has been “hung out to dry” by anyone than the Trump-led GOP? Of course most of the US military support money is benefitting the US armaments industry and military. You’d be up in arms if it wasn’t any other way, you fat slob."

Re: The war in Ukraine
SBT1 if full Kremlin propaganda mode this morning. Perhaps someone will treat it at face value given the Iranian retaliation. They might be totally disorientated and believe the Kremlin is fighting ann Iran supported by the Dems and EU in Ukraine. Always worth a try.
Re: The war in Ukraine
"Now that it is spring the Russians are on the move again, During Thursday's UN Security Council meeting, Vasily Nebenzya, the Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations, said that Moscow now expects the ""unconditional capitulation"" of the Zelensky government. Ambassador Nebenzya told the body: ""This is how it will go down in history - as an inhuman and hateful regime of terrorists and Nazis who betrayed the interest of their people and sacrificed it for Western money and for Zelensky and his closest circle. In these conditions, attempts by the head of the Kiev regime to promote his formula and convene summits in support of the Kiev regime cause only confusion. Very soon the only topic for any international meetings on Ukraine will be the unconditional capitulation of the Kiev regime. If this is accurate you have to say this would be a major black eye for Biden, first Afghanistan, then Ukraine and don’t forget what a mess the Middle East is…… Has there ever been a U S President that has been so embarrassed on the world stage? What a tragic waste of life and what a disaster of an administration and of foreign policy. Not to mention the Billions of $’s it has cost the U S taxpayer….."

"The totally honest and never tell porkies BBC are now saying that ""Ukraine could face defeat in 2024. Here's how that might look""... https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-68778338 Is this actually allowed? Are good, honest licence payers not incensed beyond reason? Will they take to the streets of London, Ralph?"

"What should be focusing the thing that might loosely be regarded as your awareness, Fat Ron, is that your care worker hasn’t given up on you. And you then need to combine that with working out there are no care workers for the miserable and useless old git in Russia and Ukraine while the difference between the two is Ukraine hasn’t given up on creating institutions that could provide care work for the likes of you and, in Russia, the “authorities” haven’t so much given up on you as found a way of taking advantage of making you even more of a miserable git."

"They might say they want Russia to win to reduce civilian deaths, but it's a lie. They just want Russia to win and want to appear reasonable to influence others. The Ukrainian people have a good idea what atrocities await and naturally aren't interested."

Re: The war in Ukraine
"I think the vibe for opponents of this war (or rather Ukraine defending themselves from attack) is that they are avoiding civilian casualties by letting Russia take over the country. Also any extra defence by allies, either the Americans or Europeans will just increase Ukrainian casualties so the only solution is to let Russia have the country. I think that’s pretty clearly the position of many people on this thread. There is also the subplot of the fact that America/allies are sacrificing Ukrainian lives to attack Russia and that the interest of the Ukrainian people would be to let Russia control them and that most Ukrainians would rather Russia controlled them than die fighting them. Therefore Zelensky or anyone else that fights back against Russia is not doing the will of the people and even worse a crook only interested in war mongering for power or money. None of the above logically makes sense to me because if you applied it to the UK, France, Holland in ww2 we’d all be speaking German right now! As much as I hate war, (my family were refugees at one point) I’m very proud that we stood up to our oppressors. However, I’m also glad we surrendered when we knew no one would help us as I wouldn’t be here! So it’s a balancing act. It’s all about will your friends help you in need or will they judge that they know what’s good for you? So it doesn’t sit right with me that when a country asks for assistance in fighting an oppressor we should abandon them because we deem their fight for existence an inconvenience. If they want to fight they should be helped. Maybe a referendum in their country is what’s needed to convince doubters in allied countries that they indeed want to pay this sacrifice? What will convince the doubters that Ukraine actually want to fight back at this point. It seems like nothing will. That’s the tragedy here."

"OK, so now we're not allowed to even acknowledge the existence of Russian tactical successes, confirmed by approved western MSM because that proves (PROVES) we want the Ukraine to lose? Care to take me through that one as you would a seven year old child?"

"Kharkiv is a city of 1.4 million and, while people’s homes, hospitals, schools and offices are being hit on a regular basis, claims it has been demolished are pure disinformation. Meanwhile, it seems the Kremlin can’t even keep the pumps running let alone secure against acts of terror like the other week https://www.gbnews.com/news/world/putin-russian-revolt-ukraine-drone-attacks-fuel-shortage"

"Ukraine have virtually no air defense now. Russia have almost demolished both Kharkiv and Chasiv Yar, and the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant in Kiev was also destroyed last night after being hit with 6 hypersonic missiles."
