(as if any other reasons than football reasons were needed at a football match)

very good Yarmouth. I am 58 years support and concur in every way. First game v Leeds at home 1965 and all I heard reverberate round the go round was FOOTBALL>>>FOOTBALL. In those days Leeds was a Top Top Side under Revie and we drew nil nil and from that moment on I was a Hammer for life. II also want to see Football played and not this junk served up by Moyes every week. Yes, enjoying the current success but we all know Soucek will be in the side come Friday but at whose expense??

I see the presiding official is the somewhat card-happy Paul Tierney; all the more reason to keep the ball, play it on the ground and dictate footballing terms.

Ironically Soucek may be needed against Luton as they have some big lumps and their main (only?) attacking threat will be balls INTO THE MIXER. Once this window is out of the way in my view Steidten should be looking for our next manager. I noticed DeZerbi was understandably frustrated after last Saturday and was hinting about needing to be given more of the hundreds of millions they've banked. I see they are close to a £25m midfielder but they are always going to be a selling club. None of the bigger clubs ... Man City Arsenal Chelsea Liverpool Man Utd even Newcastle Tottenham or Villa ... look likely to change managers in the near future so if he is looking at the next step its probably someone like us.

The concern is Moyes trying to fit Soucek in somehow with most likely Benrahma or Alvarez being dropped to the bench. I thought Soucek was awful last season. He has started brighter this season but for a game like Luton you think we could go a bit more attacking.

I don't rate Moyes. I acknowledge he was manager when we won the ECL but we played pub teams until the final where we scraped by. Be honest & get real, thats what happened. This season he's got good results and its clearly a good start. But do I want to watch a West Ham side playing 9 across the penalty area and literally throwing themselves at the ball to block a shot etc? Do I fuck. Having followed us for 57yrs I happen to think we're better than that. Not always successful perhaps but better. We should play with class and attacking flair with quality players similar to the likes of the quality players we've had over the years. I don't want the result to be the only important thing. I'm prepared to lose a few if it means we as fans are entertained and excited by our football. The system Moyes plays is the most dull and unexciting football I've watched since Wimbledon, Bolton fucking wanders or Pullis' Stoke side. It's shit football- end of story, & thats why I want Moyes out. But it's going to be interesting in the next few weeks because he's got some attacking flair in the side now (I would suggest against his wishes) with the new signings, so what's he going to do? I think there's going to be a power struggle over styles. Antonio is going to run out of steam in the next few weeks and then his strategy of 9 across the back and hoof it up to the battering ram with Bowen & JWP desperately running 80yds to back him up will fail. Then we'll see what Moyes is really capable of. Many on here seem to want results regardless of style. I don't, but I'm an old bloke who remembers West Ham as an attacking (but not too successful) side. Maybe I'm a dinosaur too but its not how I want to watch football and certainly not how I want West Ham to play football. Moyes out & the sooner the better.

Need to impose our quality on them Classic newly promoted first home game like Forest last season. Need to discourage the giddy yokels with a fast start. Hopefully a bit more luck than at Forest where we should have scored 4+ goals and seen them with 10 men.

Surely Moyes can’t start the same midfield 4 for this of all fit? Needs to go more attacking and start Benrahma.

Aaaah is Vexed a bit vexed that people aren't agreeing with him and the team has the audacity to prove him wrong. Yes, time will again show us, but will Vexed choose not to remember.

“Can someone define what a Moyes cult member believes please?” They don’t have to believe it’s fun to run a 400 metres hurdles with your gnadsack nailed to a chair but it helps to be a member

I have no problem with the percentage of possession. I am far more interested in number of attacks and how we play from the back. I am ok with us playing from a strong defense. However, we need our CBs to play out of defense not boot it up the field. We need the midfield to not lose the ball before getting to the half way line and especially we need Areola not to kick the ball to the opposition defense / keeper. Our fast attack is exciting and the way to do it, we just need to do it more. That's what we need to work on doing against all teams including Luton.

Sir Alf, Athletico Madrid won 7-0 last night even though their opponents had the greater possession.
