"ted - Agree, thought The Fall was superb. As mentioned below the recent ITV mini series The Pembrokeshire Murders is good and can watch quickly. They have done some good stuff like this recently what with Des and White House Farm."

"I remember my impressions of it as a great film more than the details of the plot, so I think it must've been close to when it came out. 25+ years ago, and I wasn't even young then!"

"GPH Have you seen La Reine Margot (Queen Margot) ? A 1994 film that's one of my favorite all time films. Fantastic cast, based on the St Bartholomew's Day Massacre (Catholic's attacking the Huguenots, which lead a lot of them fleeing to the East End)"

"Northern, I know that at heart you're a softie when it comes to animals. Give 'My Octopus Teacher' a go on Netflix. You'll be in bits by the end."

"Succession is top quality, recommended. Currently working my way through Lilyhammer. 6 episodes of series 1 done so far. Kind of like it but getting a bit repetitive. Will see how the next few episodes go."

"I quite enjoyed the Looming Tower, even if Ronald Antly thinks it’s all made up bollocks. Struggling to decide what to watch next. Too much to choose from on Netflix and Prime and started too many things that turned out to be dull. Keep seeing ads for Good Omens but that looks fucking shit."

Might be old news but if you haven't watched Succession you really need to. Funniest thing in TV at present. So well written.

"It's quite good, but I think the castle interiors are inspired by Gormenghast rather than the real castles of France."

"Watching Les Rois Maudits on youtube. French TV dramatised it twice, and both are available, both with or without subtitles. It's about French history at roughly the same time as the Wars of the Roses. If you don't like Gerard Depardieu, he gets burnt alive half an hour in. The books were supposed to be one of the influences on Game of Thrones, but I've never seen GoT, so I can't comment on that view. I'm watching the 2005 version."
