Woke watch
"There is a very good section on GB news where the ludicrous idiocies of Wokeness are looked at I thought we would should have one for WHO. I'll start with Baptiste on BBC: In Hungary,an ambassador's family are kidnapped by Islamic terrorists and carry out atrocities. At the end of the last episode Baptiste finds out that it is a false flag operation and conveniently, the real culprits are white supremacists who want to stop all immigration. Coronation Street ITV a gay black footballer is stopped by the police, because he is driving an expensive car. He is pushed to the ground during an altercation, and damages his leg threatening his career. Could have been written by Dawn Butler or a BLM activist."

Re: Woke watch
Lee Trundle Stop being tedious pal. The likes of Coutts have been dropping clients for centuries. Politics doesn't come into it. They only want the wealthiest and most influential clients because that's the way they make real money. If Farage was dropped purely for political reasons then they deserve what they get but take my word for it. They drop the smaller clients because they give a personal service for the richest in society. I was miffed when I got dropped by a private bank when I moved my pension funds overseas but that's been going on long before Farage...

Yes who.to.believe Surf... An arsehole bank.like Coutts or an arsehole like farage. My mistake was in believing information I took.to be true in good faith that was available over various sources.. So.that is all I.need to apologise for..

"‚Äú Read the dossier, you lazy cսnt‚Äù True Surface but in my defence, I couldn‚Äôt be arsed to read what I know has been happening in England for centuries"
Re: Woke watch
My point being that these banks market themselves as bankers to the elite. Minimum levels of cash limit applications from the wrong type of people but hoover up the nouveau riche… It probably wasn’t political. It was probably just maintaining their customers to ‘elite clients’

"Willtell The dossier clearly states that Farage's mortgage qualified him for an account under their commercial criteria. At least a year in advance, they hatched a plan to refuse to renew his mortgage for non-financial reasons and then close his account because he no longer satisfied their wealth criteria. Read the dossier, you lazy cսnt."

Re: Woke watch
Sorry Lee but show me where Surface said Farage met the bank’s commercial criteria? I have experienced being dropped by a snobbish London bank for commercial reasons and it’s annoying. One of my long term mates has been with Coutts all his life but his family have money and he went to the right schools. I’m damn sure he’d never meet the financial criteria.

"There was a moment yesterday, whilst Crawley was dispatching the Aussie bowlers all over the park, that I was in such a state of revelry that I almost felt sorry Farage and how such a fine, upstanding member of our nation could be treated so shabbily by a posh bank, then Zak mistimed an on-drive and shook me back to reality...."

Re: Woke watch
"You're being supremely thick today, Willtell. Surface has already told you that the bank's owner dossier clearly stated that he met the bank's commercial criteria. Why not read up on this before randomly coming up with your own suggestions on what's happened?"
Re: Woke watch
"Surface Well mate. Nothing you said there leads me to think differently. The truth is that banks like Coutts probably do that kind of report for every client that doesn't have enough money in their account. That's why I said this - ""Farage is no longer the right kind of client. He's a radio chat show presenter without enough money to justify banking with them."""
Re: Woke watch
Agreed BRANDED but again? When were UK banks nationalised apart from saving a couple from going under in the 2007/8 period?

Re: Woke watch
"Willtell That's an interesting theory. Or it would be if it wasn't directly at odds with what Coutts stated in their dossier. To paraphrase, they didn't like the cut of his jib but couldn't just bin him off because he was far too influential and mouthy. They had to manufacture a situation whereby they could claim to be closing his account for commercial reasons. Still, nearly worked, so no harm done, eh? Oh!"

"""Brexit probably has fuck all to do with it and no I haven't bothered reading up on it."" Leading contender for the most stupid thing posted on WHO all year. And there is serious competition"
Re: Woke watch
Coutts is the 8th oldest bank in the world. It thrives on an elite status of being bankers for the richest and most influential people in the world. Farage makes a big fuss about it but let's face it. Farage is not longer the right kind of client. He's a radio chat show presenter without enough money to justify banking with them. Brexit probably has fuck all to do with it and no I haven't bothered reading up on it. It's who you know and your family background with banks like Coutts. Farage is just upset at not being elite enough for them any longer I'll wager.

"Darlo Debs 9:03 Fri Jul 21 'Surf yes of course I apologise for believing information available at that point' That's not what happened though, is it? You choose to believe the story from Coutts/Nat West, the literal epitome of both big business and privilege against the word of Farage, the victim of what is now acknowledged by the bank to have been malpractice. You should be ashamed of believing the bastion of privilege above their customer and even more ashamed at your mealy-mouthed non-apology."

"Banks handle money on behalf of customers. Their only consideration should be commercial. However, politics might affect customers decisions and I’d be curious to know if their was any pressure by wealthier customers at Coutts to remove Farrage. Would n’t surprise me."

The CEO of Natwest just happened to be sat next to the BBC journalist at a dinner a few nights before the story broke.
