Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.
Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

And that. What an embarrassment.
Should be our club motto
"Pugiles culpae" would make a decent motto at the moment.
Latin, too, so Sullivan will think it adds a bit of class to his empire.
Quis crepuit would be more accurate

The clause is totally irrelevant because we want to sell him.. We don't have to enforce it.

If the Kudos sale means the funds are released to sign a a couple of players that we desperately need to bring cover to the squad, then overall its not terrible
my main concern is that we still have paqueta, who has sadly become a shell of his former self ever since this betting debacle has been hanging over him
If Potter can revitalise him, it will genuinely be like a new signing back to the squad, and i dont think we will miss kudos as much as we potentially would
that being said, come September we will inevitably re-sign Antonio because we have failed opt get anyone else, have mavro starting cb, paq will have been sold on the cheap back to brazil and Bowen will be looking around wondering why the hell am i still stuck in this circus when i should be playing champions league football
Yeah, but it isn't. It's to pay off a 40 million loan with Barclays that has 9% interest kicking in imminently. He's done the equivalent of selling the TV to cover a payday loan from fucking Wonga, and basically sold the telly for way less than it's worth because he was so desperate. There is no strategy behind this. No young players with potential waiting in the wings to come in. The only objective of this was to pay off a debt. Not strengthen the team.
What a fucking shoddy way for a BILLIONAIRE to finance running a football club. This whole mess at the club is squarely on him and his business genius sidekick Brady. Why do they run it basically on hock the whole time? Is this what other clubs actually do as well?
It's not.
They will re-finance the loan instead of paying it off.
Don't get me wrong it's a horrible way to run a club, but I doubt they will be paying off that loan in full.
You know what- you're completely correct. It's just another fucking credit card to be maxxed out isn't it. Pay what needs to be paid now, get another one going. Take assets out of the club to finance it.
What's worse is the shareholders could probably pay it all off and repay themselves out of it if they needed to, while preserving the squad. Then again maybe the club's money going to Barclays or other places in interest payments is more palatable than it going into Sullivan's pockets.

I must admit I'm not well versed in transfer dealings, but why is he going for £30m less than the release clause?
Presume the deal will go through the moment the clause expires- which is today or tomorrow I think.
So even worse- this was probably agreed fucking days ago and the clubs have been just waiting for the clause to expire so Sullivan's humiliation is even greater. He was absolutely done over by Levy on this one. He smelled the blood in the water and Sullivan just spread his cheeks wider and wider and took what was coming to him. Bet he's not going to have any soundbytes about how he's won any transfer deals this summer. That was as big an 'L' as it's possible to take. Only comfort is that the humiliation he must be feeling personally at this has to be absolutely huge. He's been made to look like an absolute fool and a cuck in the most public way. You can only hope it's going to change the way he goes about footballing business from now on to avoid it happening again, but I doubt it. It'll be all about the player being unreasonable and colluding with spurs and there was no other way this could have gone down. No mention of the desperation to pay off this 40 million quid loan which was about to default.

You'd be mad to pin any your hopes of Fullkrug this coming season, considering what happened with him last season.
1st week of preseason is almost done and we have 1 striker on our books. It's not like this situation has suddenly appeared out of the blue.
We've got a bunch of stupid fucking idiots running and managing the club.

If (if) we bring in 5 players who will impact the starting XI then we will be okay. But our hit rate on picking players is a bit shit so I would assume thats not happening.
two decent centre mids and a decent centre back would really transform things.
i'm expecting big things from Fullkrug this year.

I really couldn't care less about Kudos going to Spurs, he is now their problem. Especially when they bomb out of the Champions League in the early stages and a mid table finish, he will no doubt want to move on again.

Fullkrug gets another injury, and it'll be Callum Wilson and Antonio lining up for us in September.
That's well within the realms of possibility.

Kudus to Spurs.
Do I blame him? No, Sullivan has hawked him around like lucky heather. I feel a bit sorry for him having his "value" debated by the likes of Sullivan and Levy, I am sure he will want a good wash after the dust settles.
Do I believe he is all of the rubbish thrown at him through the usual mouthpieces? Absolutely not. This board always goes into overdrive to paint the players that leave, or may leave in a less than flattering light. In Kudus and Rice's case even if they wanted to stay Sullivan made their positions untenable.
Do I believe our owners got best value? Definitely not. I suspect that Levy threw in the lube for the rogering he gave them.
So a hypothetical situation in comes to mind:
Do I believe that the bulk of the Kudus money will offset the latest "£40m" black hole coming down the road as put out there by Whetstone? Absolutely.
So if Kudus goes for, say £55m, that leaves £15m which will probably be spread over a period, likely 3 years. This year probably about £3.75m on the 75% rule imposed by the club.
Is that enough for the down payment on a World Class player?
I have no ill will towards Kudus but won't wish him well at Tottenham.
This is it. We've effectively sold him for nothing. To pay a debt. A debt on a ridiculous 40 million quid payday loan because of the owner's stupid short sighted business model, when we all know the owners between them have the means to easily cover it or to be the loaner- even if that is still unpalatable.
Where is the sustainability in the club? The long term plan? There's just none. After 15 years of ownership. Other clubs have proven it can be done but we just lurch from season to season like a drunk from paycheque to paycheque, scrabbling around until the next lot of money comes in and then immediately spending it and pawning our watch to get us through the month.
It's like being run by fucking Delboy.

Kudus was mostly a moody cսnt. Getting anything more than a fiver for him is a result. Hope he fails where ever he goes and makes the fans miserable.

Proper unknown innit. I hate the chairman, don't rate the manager, and think our defence and central midfield is diabolical.
But I'm proper West Ham, so let's fucking have it.

We are the new Everton.
Next few years we will flirt with relegation while trying to keep the club afloat and within PSR guidelines.
Managers will come and go as they take the blame for the ineptitude of Sullivan.
It wouldn’t be as awful if you could see them starting over with a clear strategy in the vein of Brighton, taking a couple of years to bed it in and coming back stronger, but they won’t. Sullivan is incapable of it. It’ll be bumbling along year to year with patchwork random signings of his choosing, undermining the strategy and aims of whoever is sitting in the dugout.
How on earth have the other shareholders not had enough of this or seen this coming?
