"Taking to Twitter, the Italy international wrote: “Dear West Ham. “While my time in London didn’t go the way I had planned, some of my greatest life moments were made here. And for that I’m forever grateful Thank you to the players and staff for making me feel so welcome, and the fans for their continued support. “I will continue to support this fantastic club from home in Italy, and will be keeping in close touch with the lifelong friends I have made whilst in England Thank you for everything, Ciao.”"

"It’s about as basic as it gets for a striker but it seems like, if we create the chances for him, he’ll put them away. Fundamentally that’s the most important thing. Both of his goals so far have been really well taken. Good to see."

Unless you're eyesight is non existent. You can see he's quality Mancini knows a good player and the fact he's considered Italys no 1 striker is telling. It was Mancini who brought argureo dzeko and the hugely underated negredo in to man city .

"Moyes frustrated the fuck out of me with his post match comments..said Scamaca not there yet and needed time Did you see that fucking idiot Antonio when he came on ?, Could not be arsed to run, he's an effing liability"

"Has to start with n Sunday. Shit opposition I know but an actual centre forward who can find space, control a ball, good movement either way and can finish. If he doesn‚Äôt Moyes is a cսnt"

"I make FCJ correct in his Haller comment, he could be a square peg in a round hole, and no fault of his own if the instruction is to play as a Carrolesque target man All I heard of his game prior and of the brief glimpses since, he has so much more to his game. I like his movement, dropping off, shooting and distribution, I see a player more in the Kane envelope than Carrol's I like what I see and hope Moyes adapts to his strengths"

"southbankbornnbred 11:43 Totally. Looked like the radar was slightly off a few times, but he looks a real handful. Big and strong and it was an utterly dominant header. Loved how he bossed the CB and found his space in the area like a proper out and out striker. Obviously he's not going to have his way like that with the Van Dijks of the world, but that's something we've really been missing."

"He looks a top player, think he's going to score plenty of goals for us."

"Thought he played quite well last night and, of course, he did the thing he was brought here to do: stick the ball in the net. You can see that he's still working out the team's style of play, how his team-mates operate and where he needs to be at certain times. All of us have got to expect some teething problems while he settles in. Would like to have seen one or two of our midfield breaking their backs to get a bit closer to him and work off him. But one European game, one goal. Won't do his confidence any harm. His goal - Cornet's trickery and Scatman's header - bodes well."

I enjoyed his range of passing as well a few 30yd cross field balls. He was also very demanding pointing where the ball should go which I thought was good. He correct most of the time but still the ball went sideways or backwards…

"‘67 I think the worry is that Scamacca ends up in the same situation as Haller, whereby he doesn’t quite fit well into the team set up and is isolated. It’s the lack of forward thinking creative players to link with him. I’m sure Pellegrini got Haller to get the owners to spend more… such was his obvious solitude….."

"I liked most of what I saw last night. He looks like he might have velcro feet so that bodes well...Cornet was busy and a nuisance all night. Kehrer looked tidy when he came on. Benny aside, the rest of our team look strangely lethargic - I'm putting it down to the humid weather but if they are still the same in late September then I'm having words."

agree with fraser. the link between midfield and attack wasn't great last night. plenty of attacking players in the team last night but too many backward passes. makes you realise why Rice is so important to this team.

"Play the ball to his feet let him hold it up and bring players into the game or play it over the top to let fun onto it , But Moyes has no plan B so it was to play it out wide and put shit crosses in, the sooner Moyes works this out the better Scamacca will get."
