Hamas attack Israel
"Or should i say they are attacking to get THEIR land back. Good luck to them. The World will watch and do nothing to help them as they always do, shame on us."

Re: Hamas attack Israel
"Stewie, I think I would agree with pretty much everything you’ve written on here for years, but have a different take on Trump and the middle-east. I don’t really have an opinion one way or another on Republicans vs Democrats, but can’t see how Biden has veered in the slightest from anything that Trump had already put into motion. Leave Afghanistan, less troops in Iraq, fairly minor presence in Syria, (allowing both Russia and Iran to move into a power vacuum in the region), complete backing of Israel, including Trumps Abraham accords, which a few at the time thought would inflame things, rather than see the region move towards more stability and peace. Don’t know much about US and Russia relations and the war in Ukraine, but genuinely can’t see what Biden has done in the Middle East that wasn’t just a continuation of what Trump had put into place, or rather pulled out of place."

Re: Hamas attack Israel
"Don’t talk bollocks, griffen. Everyone knew Trump would never start any war let alone WW3 simply because he was never properly in charge of the military and never will be. As for there being no wars during his tenure, that’s such easily verifiable nonsense there really is no point engaging with it. Suffice to say, during Trump’s presidency Putin was enabled and emboldened to not only hold on to Crimea, but confirm the butcher Assad in power while sending millions of $$$$ to ISIS and the Taliban via his proxies in Chechenia and Dagestan. And the fact remains, Trump as president now would mean him being under pressure from his own electorate to wade in on Iran, leading to massive political conflict within US institutions."

"Dave Rubin made a good point regarding Trump on a podcast I heard. He said that should he get re elected as president, the biggest danger will come from those who oppose him just because of who he is, not what he stands for. And, (as usual) Griff has nailed it. Compare the world now to what it was like 2016/2020. The rest writes itself when comparing Biden to Trump."

Re: Hamas attack Israel
"""I really dread to think what would happen if Trump actually does regain office"" Yeah, we heard all this last time. How terrifying it was that his finger was on the button and how he would start world war 3. The result? No wars, and several peace deals brokered between historic adversaries. His replacement has allowed putin to invade Ukraine, has overseen the complete destabilisation of the middle east, and is now funding both sides of the current conflict, having given billions to Iran- which, incidentally, Trump warned about. Worth noting as well, that Trumps predecessor dropped more bombs in a calendar year than any president in history. There's no version of this where Trump is a worse option than Biden unless you stand to profit from war."

Re: Hamas attack Israel
"Biden needs to do the obvious thing, which is making US support conditional on Netanyahu, Ben-Gvir and the rest of the Likud cabal facing investigation for their consistent mishandling of the Gaza crisis, causing untold damage and suffering to civilians and US prestige in the area. But now Iran has retaliated to the obvious Damascus consulate provocation so Biden’s position is much more difficult, especially in election year. This is of course a classic example of the tail being allowed to wag the dog. I really dread to think what would happen if Trump actually does regain office because much of his electorate actually believes this is the start of the Rapture."

Re: Hamas attack Israel
What's most perverse is that American and British tax money is funding both sides in this. Successive governments and intelligence agencies have engineered WW3 and made *YOU* pay for it. Meanwhile importing people who want to kill you for it and called you racist for asking questions. *shrugs*

"""Again, am I living in a fucking parallel universe where everyone is just ignoring the fact Israel bombed an Iranian embassy?"" Facts don't matter, what matters is cheerleading for your side. Well, the side that their chosen media tells them to support, whether Israel or Islamic. This country's long term interests don't exist and we MUST get involved in this shitstorm to our detriment."

Re: Hamas attack Israel
"So much of this falls into the ""what possible fucking good is this gonna do us??"" category. Sunak's statement that we're gonna stand with Israel and probably send more Brits to fight and die in a sandpit And also letting in countless people from Muslim countries for years before this kicks off. Seriously, what the fuck good could either of these things do this country in isolation, let alone together? Zero consideration for the wellbeing of our country. In fact the opposite. This could ONLY end badly for this country."
Re: Hamas attack Israel
"If you were Israel would you let it go? OR would you retaliate and smash the Islamic state out of them, seems like a perfect excuse to rid the region of the Islamic terror funding regime once and for all. No more proxy wars being funded by Iran is a nice prize if you can get it….."
Re: Hamas attack Israel
Poor Texas and Frank. They got so hyped about a possible attack on Israel. Silly cunts.

Re: Hamas attack Israel
"Well, seems like these Iranian drones are bit of a joke? Not sure Ivan will want them anymore........... The ones launched overnight seem to have easily been picked off and as effective as those you could get from the Iranian equivalent of Currys. A few did get through and landed in the Negev desert, but as you can guess it's mostly desert...... The 'decisive' strikes didn't amount to much and to be honest quite an embarrassment if anything, not sure the Israelis will be too concerned if that's the best the Iranians can offer."

"That's a thousand drones/missiles that won't now rain down on the Ukraine. Every cloud, and all that. Maybe a bit more ""provocation"" is required, with the aim of depriving the Russians of Iranian made drones - although, no doubt the Russians have already reverse-engineered a few and are building their own with impunity."

Re: Hamas attack Israel
"Iran has already said in not so many words that its made its point, got its revenge and wont strike again unless Israel responds. If anything, i expect the Americans will put pressure on Israel for that outcome, NO response. The whole thing is just a face saving exorcise almost from Iran? Outage at the general killed, but they let everyone know they would launch these drones and rockets, Israel could monitor them coming in and little or no damage is done as far as i know. Iran has got its ""revenge"" no real damage or deaths for Israel so no real reason to respond and escalate the situation, if anything it may calm the tension between them, well for now at least! But this is the Middle East so anything is possible.................."

"Why is it so difficult to hold that posters can hold a polar opposite but equally correct view to you given that both sides' views are supported by equally unverifiable information? P.S If anyone puts up a link to ""verifiable"" sources, I'll stop watching/reading at the first instance of ""It's clear that..."", ""It's obvious that..."" or any variations thereof. If it was ""clear"" or ""obvious"", it wouldn't need stating."

Re: Hamas attack Israel
"How fortunate for Iran that the attacks they warned about were so severe that their population and proxy partners will no doubt be impressed by their show of force, but so completely ineffective as to not provoke an immediate escalation to a state of war. Almost like it was planned that way. I don't think any amount of tabloid headlines over here will sway the average brit from a general cynical disillusioned state of ""let's stay the fuck out of this one""."
