Just out of curiosity Can anyone name the last competent manager we have had that gave us the style of play along with success on the field that you talk about/demand?
You can judge him you pleb. Nobody said you can't.
Oh look, it’s the mouthy bloke who accused me of being abusive to anyone who’s opinion I didn’t agree with, being abusive to someone he doesn’t agree with
I take it, it’s absolutely fine when you do it though
and for the record, there’s been a tonne of people on here telling us we have no right to judge Potter until he’s had a pre-season and a summer transfer window
Oh turn it in. Trundle and I don't have a difference of opinion. He asked my why he can't judge Potter and I told him nobody said he couldn't. Every single game, everyone has and will judge Potter. Why is he asking me why he can't? God knows.
And no there hasn't been anyone saying you can't judge Potter. What some people have said is that they won't make a full judgement on whether to sack Potter until he has had a summer window and a pre-season. Unlike yourself, who has judged him not good enough, like everyone else, but you want him gone now. That's fine. You are not wrong and they are not wrong. My overall point is why you go round this forum saying anyone who feels he should be given longer is wrong and even abusing them off the back of it.
In fact let me give you a very valid point right now about why this is something I’m very passionate about
in Potters first two seasons with Brighton they finished 16th and 15th
now that’s not good is it, that’s low positions and point tally’s that have been relegated other years
and that’s with him working alongside a top quality chairman, a bloke that wants what’s best for his club and has an absolutely fucking brilliant system in place that brings in top young talent
now he’s working alongside the biggest cսnt of a chairman in the entire football league, a narcissistic prick that has taken back control of transfers
Potter struggled for two seasons working alongside one of the best, now he’s got the worst
You add that to the fact he doesn’t seem to have a clue what our best starting XI is, he’s dire tactics and awful late substitutions and I’m seriously worried
So yeah, I get angry, but I’m yet to hear a single person who these things don’t bother explain why?
Cos for me I’m worried one of the few things I actually give a shit about in life are about to do a Sheffield Wednesday
You can judge him you pleb. Nobody said you can't.

You’ve absolutely no idea what you’re talking about
What you’re claiming hasn’t been said once has been said dozens of times by other people
just go back to the start and read from there
and while you’re at it, see that I don’t dish out any abuse to anyone who hasn’t tried to give it to me first
there’s a disease on here who goes around calling people spurs fans if they say something he doesn’t agree with, don’t try and lump me in with him
I give valid reasons to every opinion or point I try to make, and I’m always up for a debate without name calling but there’s a tonne of people who ain’t and I ain’t gonna have someone giving me a load of shit and not give it back myself

I can't understand this blind faith that some have over the bloke and think everything will suddenly click into place when there's been nothing to suggest that's ever likely to happen.
His supporters will say he needs a transfer window to bring in his own players. He's had a transfer window already, and brought in one of his old players. How did that work out? Why can't we judge him on that and have concerns about what players he's going to buy in the summer?
Why can't we judge him on the tactics he's trying to employ now? Are we not going to play this way next season, or something?
Why can't we judge him on his man management skill now? We've got players fighting each other, and breaking down on the pitch. Why are they so sure that's not going to happen next season if we don't start off well?
You can judge him you pleb. Nobody said you can't.
So I must have imagined all those people who suggested he gets a free pass until next season.
Yes you did, because nobody has said he has a free pass until next season.
See my explanation to Maverick.
Its not hard. Everyone is judging him. But off the back of those judgements some want him gone now and others are prepared to see what he does after a summer window and a pre-season.
There's no right or wrong. Just a different perspective. Except people like Maverick abuse other posters for not wanting Potter gone now.

When I think of the Zola tenure, I always go straight to the disastrous diamond midfield four. Zero width. Bailed out largely by the fact Behrami chased around like the duracell bunny. It was dreadful football, and he followed that up with failure everywhere else.
If we were taking a punt on an untried Italian premier league icon, we should have at least done so on our own one. That too might have been a disaster, but it would have united the club and been fun at least.

For me Zola was probably the last manager/coach who actually improved a player through training ground coaching with Carlton. So he must get a few points for that
Nah - can't let that one pass. Much as I respect everybody's opinion on here - and much as I know all of our managers have had their flaws - we've had several recent players who have been improved by decent coaching. We shouldn't pretend otherwise. We just haven't had enough of them.
Rice, Bowen, Antonio (in his pomp), Arnautovic etc.
Antonio was as raw as meat when he first arrived. He has never been world-class, but he did improve considerably first under Bilic and then Moyes. Bowen steadily improved under Moyes. Declan was a huge talent, but no doubt he got better with coaching.
The problem has always been that we haven't identified enough players with the capacity and mentality to improve like that. Too many overpriced, over-rated flops who aren't at the level managers or chairmen think, and who don't improve enough with time.

Cole was the most prolific under Curbishley, the manager before Zola, with 10 goals in 27 games. That was his best ever season.

Zola was shit but at least he did try to get us playing at times and not hide behind the ball so much like we are doing playing mainly crab defensive football.

To give him some slack the Icelandics going bust mean't he had zero funds. Of course he had The Project under Duxbury. And we think times are bad now.

Yes I’m not saying Zola was any good for us
I’m simply saying he was trying to play a style of football that could of been good if we’d of had better players
we didn’t, and hence it didn’t work

The give him a transfer window makes no sense to me
When Zola was in charge I could see what he was trying to do, he was trying to get us to play football the way that he was taught playing in brilliant teams, slick, fast often one touch football that was never gonna work here cos we didn’t have the players that were anywhere near the level required to play that way so all we’d up doing is giving the ball away, but at least with him I could of seen an argument for there could be a vast improvement with different players.
All I see Potter doing is trying to keep hold of possession by passing it around our own half. I don’t see how better players are going to create more goals if that’s all we’re going to do for the majority of the match.
As you say, it’s complete blind faith
Don't agree with the bit about Zola! I remember his teams constantly passed it round the back and then had not idea what to do when they passed the halfway line. A bit like now.
Peak Zola managing was this..
Admittedly a rare highlight but fantastic Football when it did briefly click.
