Until West Ham find out mojo again, a game against a David Moyes managed side will always have some kind of extra significance.
Layer on the pressure on Potter who looks like a dead man walking, and this game is under intense scrutiny.
It looks for all the world like Potter has two games, not to save his job, but to buy a stay if execution, against Everton and Arsenal, made none the easier by these two being amongst the best set piece side in the league....the Hammers clear achilles heel.
The stats this far have backed up the eye test...West Ham ARE terrible at defending the box, none of the keepers help out on crosses, and we give up corners willy nilly.
But if Potter is to cling on, nothing but a win here will do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------- Match Centre:
That's exactly what i wanted to see and what i hoped Potter would have done in his last few games. Let's see how costly his stubborn selections may have been.
Also I agree re: JWP. I doubt he'd just totally shun him from the squad so perhaps injured. Unless the guy is just really not liked by most of the others and was causing problems, or more importantly the new manager. You'd have expected him to travel at least if there's nothing seriously wrong with him or there's nothing at play.

Personally I'd have liked to see him on the bench. Whilst he's not really up to it now, he's a good honest English pro in a dressing room largely devoid of role models and leaders.
Just unceremoniously dumping him...not sure that endears him to the squad. But we'll see.
No one knows for sure what's happened, and certainly not some twat broadcasting from his bedroom. He might have an injury.

So Sky's studio guest is.... Duncan Ferguson. Alongside the spitter Carragher
Seems nice and balanced.
Everton wank fest incoming then.
With a healthy portion of 'careful what you wish for you ungrateful cunts' regarding Moyes as well I am sure.

Brace yourselves for a disappointing lineup and a comfortable loss. Nuno is good but he aint a fuckin magician.

Can’t see anything different coming from us. Think Evertons 3 behind the striker will be too much for our defence.

Pretty ruthless with JWP if the stories are true but had to be done.

Might be wishful of hopeful thinking I’m going for a Nuno bounce 1-2.

But he does know JWP as he had him on loan for 6 months and hardly used him at all.

Really interested to see what midfield he plays without JWP and Soucek.
Could be a blessing and give us a chance to see Potts or Magassa.
Really hope it's not an anticlimax and we start the game with Guido Rodriguez instead.
