Well it's a fast turnaround for this one. After a hard fought, but somewhat disappointing point at Old Trafford, we head to the south coast for an arguably more difficult looking game on paper.
Brighton have been a bogey side since they arrived in the division, as well as being the envy of many fans for their progressive owner and stellar recruitment model.
Teamwise, Nuno gets to 'bring' Paqueta back (I won't use the term 'welcome'), and the messaging around Summerville remains opaque at best. Plus as to what happened to Guilherme who knows, but with both him and Igor missing we went from a squad of 3 Braziliians to none versus Man Utd in one fell swoop.
This leaves at least a decision around Soucek, but if Summerville (or Guilherme) were to be available, another decision around 2 of 3 from Fernandes, Magassa, and Potts.
Predicted Lineup
I'm working on the basis that Paqueta will come back in, and Summerville will at best be fit for the bench:
Areola
Wan Bissaka Mavropanos Todibo Diouf
Magassa Potts
Bowen Paqueta Fernandes
Wilson
Subs: Hermansen, Kilman, KWP, Irving, Kante, Earthy, Guilherme, Summerville, Marshall
Predicted Score: Brighton 2 - 1 West Ham
Brighton remain high up in the current form table, scoring twice as many as they concede. West Ham are midtable over the last 5 games, are at a scoring ratio of roughly 1:1.
Hard to see anything but a defeat here, but we have a punchers chance (all be it, the blows themselves are fairly lightweight and will need to find the Brighton chin with surgical precision to knock them out).

Areola
Kilman. Mavropanos. Todibo
Wan Bissaka. Rodriguez. Fernandes Diouf
Bowen Paqueta. Summerville
One would assume anyway.

Fuck that lineup. Nuno going defensive - what could possibly go wrong?
Three CBs - Kilman back in.
No Potts, no Magassa, Guido in. Wtf?
No striker.
The only good news is that Summerville is back.

I’m not really a fan of cutting off one’s nose to spite one’s face.
Paqueta is our best creative midfielder and it means he can play left midfield while Summerville is out, where he has done a decent job before and get Fernandes back into his best position, in the box to box role.
So Paqueta back in at the expense of Soucek. It’d be silly not to.
I also think he often turns it on when he feels he owes us.

We're getting to the stage that this is must win game.
Only 12pts with two weeks until Xmas and getting cut adrift.
First time I've seriously believed that we will go down.
Thanks Sullivan.

If you're going to drop percentages quote a source so they can be easily checked. I'm not wasting my time searching or taking your word for it.
I Googled it took seconds... Our pass completion rate against Man U was poor just look on the match post on the BBC has all the stats but if you're too lazy to do what took me seconds so be it.
Paqueta pass completion is all you need to ask... Like I said seconds.
Oh and why would I make it up when it can be so easily checked
And yet you still didn't post the source...
So easy to add a link.

The cheating, diving, possession conceding, showboating, samba dancing Brazilian liability will be walking straight back into the team and his fellow Portuguese speaking manager has already confirmed so. A disgraceful decision by Nuno.
West Ham has beaten Brighton once in 16 Premier League games and 5 times in 25 encounters overall, with Brighton winning 7 of the Premier League encounters and 10 overall.
It is so embarrassing that we have such shit records against tinpot clubs.

Thursday gave a little hope so for that reason I'm thinking we could get another draw, maybe sneak a win. Think we have to accept that staying in this division for another season is going to be a fight, hope we have the stomach for it.

Don’t want Paqueta to walk straight back into the side, he’s off in either a couple of games or a couple of months and we’ve got to learn to play without him, our midfield looked ok against MU so off the bench if we need for me. We’re capable of getting a win against Brighton if we don’t give them any respect, I get frustrated at Nuno keeping on in his pressers about how everyone we play against are a very good team and how tough the game is going to be, been saying for a few weeks that if we go at the opposition who knows? If we don’t we already know.
Another frustration is if we do manage to get our noses in front, I don’t want to see the (seems like) Nuno norm of circle the wagons and have the white flag ready. My jury is still debating whether NES has that trust in the players or not, but one thing is certain if he keeps reverting to hanging onto a lead or a draw we know the outcome, it almost does us a favour if the opposition go into a lead, as long as he doesn’t shit himself at us drawing level. Team showed better energy without Paqueta last game hoping for a 1-2

A win would be good to keep us in touch with Leeds and Forest.
It's looking or of us 3 and may be Fulham to go down.
I wouldn't rule out Sunderland and Brentford being sucked into the mix. Possibly Bournemouth too.

Nuno brain fart incoming....?
West Ham have Lucas Paqueta available for selection following his suspension and the manager has already said he will come straight back into the starting team. This is likely to be at the expense of Tomas Soucek. The excellent news is that Crysencio Summerville has been back in training and should be available for selection as well.Whenever the club have two games in quick succession the manager appears to change things up and this is expected to happen today with possible changes in formation and personnel being explored in training. He has also given some consideration as to whether Callum Wilson can play this many games in a row.The manager is currently assessing the squad ahead of the January transfer window and could opt to include a fringe player or two for this purpose. Perhaps one of Rodriquez, Irving or Walker-Peters. Niclas Fulkrug has also returned to the squad.

We had 70% pass completion the other day, not exactly keeping the ball is it.
Paqueta is at 79% how does he bring it down?

Alfs, Ferret’s harmless and has some good points at times. The Potts thing and other posts, which appear to be anti West Ham are, to state the obvious, just to irritate people. His or her motivations are unclear without meeting him or her ( which all of us probably wouldnt want to do

). They could be from someone who is a narcissist of some sort ( there are lots of types as we know ) or someone with antisocial personality disorder, borderline personality disorder but more likely , and hopefully, just a general need to manipulate, control and / or get attention / validation. One of the many downsides of social media platforms and the anonymity they provide I guess?. Interesting that Australia is trying to ban social media for u16s such is the risk to mental health of some kids. For us adults ( loose term ) its just something best to ignore imho
I reckon all Gen X and older should erase themselves from this WWW world ..we just make cunts of ourselves and best given a swerve if you have any dignity left .
Go back to what you grew up being..
self reliance and latch key kids...we didn't need parents because we were double hard and mob handed

Weather is going to be factor tomorrow apparently.
If so , it's a lottery .
I'll take a draw all day long at these back alley bandits because they seem to have our number ..like Brentford and fuckin Luton
No chance of Wilson starting in this one , so I think it will be Bowen up top
two fresh bods in Jimmy and bet Fred to come back in to hopefully make a difference .
