Short term a few more losses and draws are needed because Sullivan desperatelywants to keep Moyes but knows he will be back in the fans firing line if he does. Only my opinion but its classic Sullivan to stick with yesterdays man.

"Tomshardware¬†10:24 Tue Feb 13 Re: Moyes Out JWP started the season well, getting forward and getting into the box scoring a couple of goals against Brighton/Man City, some good assists as well Correct. Then he was told to stop getting forward to accommodate the lumbering oaf soucek. He now sits in the centre circle making 5 yard passes, normally backwards, and doesn't venture forward at all. Moyes is a cսnt"

"JWP started the season well, getting forward and getting into the box scoring a couple of goals against Brighton/Man City, some good assists as well. Since then his form has dropped but it's a familiar story with much of the side. I don't actually know where he fits in because he lacks athleticism, speed, strength that so many other midfielders in the league have."

"""Watching JWP pretty intensely on Sunday I saw the absolute epitome of the modern stats based player. Rather than playing for the team and trying to find a man in space (particularly Bowen who shone like a diamond in a dogshit) he'd run forward and then play a little 3 yard pass to a teammate, then sprint back. In defence he never looked like he was in the least bit committed standing two yards off whoever had the ball basically allowing the player to take his time and pick his pass. The stuff he's supposed to Excel in? When was the last time we scored from a corner or a free kick?"" Read that back. Pretty much the instruction Moyes gives to every player other than Bowen, Kudus and Paqueta. Funny how we was being touted for England when he arrived and ever since being ""conditioned"" by Moyes and his clows has gone backwards. See played a, b,c,d,e,f etc etc"

5 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders is unacceptable and pathetic Moyes this has to change!

Jury's still well out for me on JWP. I'm sure moyes doesn't tell him not to pass forward. Paquetta and occasionally alverez are our only midfielders who are prepared to take a risk with a pass. Paquetta still gives the ball away quite frequently but you forgive him. JWP and soucek just don't seem to ever want to progress the ball unless it is 100% on.

fail to see what we're getting out of JWP that we wouldn't have got from an even semi confident fornals.

"stewie griffin 7:31 Tue Feb 13 Broadly agree. Not an amazing player, but without doubt used completely wrong, like most of the squad. Can be more than useful, and can definitely play in a passing, attacking team. Anyone who knows an ounce about football can see exactly what is happening with certain players. It's the football killer doing it."

"Can't say I've been disappointed in JWP ""ì I have been disappointed in what he's being asked to do. He's been converted into a 34-year old Noble role. Which, frankly, defies belief given the start he made to his career with us. Our manager is a fucking idiot."

Agree Chim - I've been really disappointed by JWP of late and I just cant see why anyone can pick him and Soucek in same team. I prefer JWP higher up and that's what expected when we signed Phillips. Personally I dont think either should be in team when Paq gets backs - but there's no chance of that.

"How did we get here? I said to my brother just before the winter window opened 'we're about three players away from having a very good side'. Paq, Kudas and Bowen were flying, especially Paq with his telepathic connection with Bowen and Emerson. It wasn't for nothing that they had the nickname the holy trinity. Watching JWP pretty intensely on Sunday I saw the absolute epitome of the modern stats based player. When was the last time we scored from a corner or a free kick? This team has been wilfully and cynically weakened and because the three bottom teams are so shit we're practically safe from relegation we've now got the smallest, oldest squad in the whole division. The only winner here is Sullivan with more money in his account."

"I'm surprised that Moyes don't want a new challenge. Surely he can see it's gone stale here. He's a multi millionaire and his stock is going to reasonably high. He'll get another club by the summer and can go again. There are times and places for people and he's had his time and place - trying to hold on to that when it's very clear his time is done is just idiocy. It pisses me off when people say they feel sorry for him etc, he isn't a low paid worker with a young family to feed and with only a state pension to look forward to. If he had read the room properly he would have fucked off after scraping by in the league and winning the hokey kokey cup. Most (not me) would have held him in high regard and would have had the legacy he so craves. Instead we find ourselves here, with everyone knowing what the best thing is but no one wanting to dump the other. It's pathetic. Either man up and fuck off or the board needs to man up and fuck him off. Two spineless cunts who can't make a decision unless it falls within their rigid scope. So fucked off with this situation. He'll scrape a lucky win, 2 bore draws and a loss in the next 4 and the shit will just repeat itself."

"Makes it difficult to get a good team out to attack when you have no attackers that is because Moyes keeps buying defensive players , I think Paqueta was a mistake as he was a defensive midfielder for Brazil. ...."

"If Newcastle sacked Howe, would Shearer be happy with Moyes as his replacement? Or are Newcastle fans allowed to be more ambitious than that? Are they allowed to desire a particular style of play? If they are, why aren't we?"

Shearer who gets all stroppy if anyone has a pop at his beloved Newcastle yet we're expected to accept boring turgid football from a coach that we rescued from Spain. Ask Sunderland fans what they think of Moyes
