"I realise Gillian Anderson is a pin-up to you chaps, but she really is a terrible actress. No range. Just stares at other actors and speaks very slowly. Every character she plays the same way."

"The Crown is decent - not because of the oddball family that are the Windsors, but because of the way it portrays historical events that I'd forgotten about. The bint who plays Mad Maggie is quality too and her visit to Balmoral was funny as fuck, fiction or not. Talk about a festival of freaks."

"Block I've just started on Fear the Walking Dead. It's a lot better than The Walking Dead, half way through season 2 at the minute. Have also started The Purge, it's not bad when nothing else is on."

"Takashi Miike 4:14 Wed Dec 9 ""Ted, give the prison drama OZ a go. you should be able to find it, it can be pretty raw at times but it's very good"" Second this. Get ready to see Christopher Meloni (thought I have heard Happy takes him places as well) and J.K. Simmons in a new light. Even Luke Perry from 90210 is an interesting Christ character. Tom Fontana goes a bit surreal as his shows near their end. Fontana and Simon together in Homicide: Life on the Street is another recommendation. Network precursor to The Wire."

Mike 3 or 4 for me. but that's not to say the other 3 are excellent. First episode was a slow burner - Mrs Sarge didn't want to watch any more - I was hooked from the second episode. Really high quality stuff

One of those 'must get round to seeing this' series for me has been The Wire. Only started a short while ago - have got the last episode to watch after the Leeds game on Friday night I may be the only one on here who hasn't seen it - but if not - then it's a hell of a good watch.

"Block 8:09 Tue Dec 8 I got lost in Mexico somewhere and have yet to get back to it. Wondering if its worth it, even if it is free to me at this point. I think Kim Dickens is a good actor. Going at least back to - Treme I would that as a recommendation for the thread if you can find it. Along with most of the rest of what David Simon has done."
