"bought a couple of coins in 2016 for just over 500 quid each. I've nearly cashed out a couple of times, but I think it will hit 50k by the end of the year, I expect a couple of sharp falls in between. Fucking HMRC all over it though..."

"Duffster, I used Revolut just before Christmas. It’s really easy to use but I did notice the spreads (difference between buy and sell price) were quite wide. But simply and straightforward to kick off with Have since started using Binance which is good but probably for those with a bit more understanding of finance."

"Bitcoin will have major correction soon. The moving averages were in a death cross - a very bad sign which historiclaly has led to a collapse in price - but then Elon Musk invested. Unless corporates follow him, the price will decline very sharply. Uusually corrections 60% to 80%. Let's see what happens..."

"I'm invested in crypto and I'm doing well. It's not BTC, but in the run in November I make £3k in a day. It looks like digital currency will be a thing moving forward and it'll be regulated very soon, this is where I see BTC losing ground. Unregulated, slow settlements, heavy impact on the environment and heavily linked to the CCP."

"My eldest son who crunches numbers for a living (data scientist) is heavy into mining and investing in bit coins, he has to share and pay for servers in China for electricity and computer power to solve the maths problem that bitcoin sets to mine bitcoins. He is still sitting on his remaining bitcoins and he tells me he has cashed some in at $23,000 but left most of his other investment in. If you are interested in the electrical and computer power you need to mine coins:- Global power consumption for the servers that run bitcoin’s software is a minimum of 2.55 gigawatts (GW), which amounts to energy consumption of 22 terawatt-hours (TWh) per year—almost the same as Ireland. Google, by comparison, used 5.7 TWh worldwide in 2015 and if Google used all of it's global computer power it couldn't match a tenth of what bitcoin uses."

"Apparently there's an overdue alt season building. So in coming weeks when BTC comes off its high, the lesser coins should enjoy some price increases. These can be significant. If you are lucky enough to spot one early, they can suddenly go up 1000% or more. Otherwise you can still easily make over 1% a day during these times doing automated trading. I've made 4% in a day a few times."
