May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.
Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?
Window this close season comes in two parts:
Part 1: 1st June to 10th June
Part 2: 16th June to 1st September
News coming out Potters interested in offering Kudus in part exchange for another suspect Keeper Sanchez from Chelsea. Sanchez and Ramsdale really the best scouting we can do under Macauley/Potter?

Yeah, you can tell Wright was gobsmacked at what he was hearing but suppressed it well. Thick as mince with a short attention span which is probably why he's been involved in so many relegations with different Clubs by the age of 26. He's been stealing a living in the Premier League up to this point.

Expect Kudus will be off and strikes me as the sort of player who will kick up a stink if he doesn't get a move to Chelsea. Hopefully a few clubs will be interested so we get a decent price.

We shouldn't be doing any other club in the Premiership. Any favours. Especially Manchester City, after the Phillips fiasco.

Rated Grealish a few years ago but after the last season anyone at a club like ours wanting to spend 200k a week on him must be mad.
Hasn't got much goal threat anymore and no pace. I'd rather Sancho for a similar looking deal.
Without paying him up or a large part of his wages don't see where Jack goes.

Never really been a big fan of Jack. I think he plays for himself a bit too much and on a counter attack he'll stop and walk with the ball so he can do some fancy footwork.
Obviously a good player but not someone I'd be keen on.

The best thing grealish could do for himself is fuck off abroad and play for a couple of years. I would love to see him at west ham but think it would be a half hearted move for him and he probably wouldn't give it his all.
Grealish has N17 loan written all over him. Fortunately.

Unless he meets Grealish in a club out there, thinking about it it could be a good match. I wouldn't be shocked if Grealish liked a ladyboy too.

Sounds exactly like a typical Sullivan singing then!
I'd be questioning his sanity if he is prepared to wipe off £16m of his contract he's got with City.
England had still been picking him even though he's not been playing for City. That obviously might change now with Tuchel and his Chelsea love-in with England, and he might know that.

He'd have to be prepared to take an enormous wage cut, and he can just sit on the bench at City if he wants to, and pick up 300K a week for doing nothing. If he REALLY wants to play football then maybe he'll agree to slash his wages, but at 29 it might not be so important to him vs financial security. I'd imagine if he goes anywhere it'll be back to Villa if they want him because he clearly loves that club and if he's going to play out of his skin for anyone, it's them. Doubt Rashford ends up there.
This is always what makes me wary about picking up players who have fallen out of favour at those massive clubs where they are used to winning trophies and on silly money. They are inevitably very expensive, on the downside of their career, and want security from us AND very likely have no resale value. Some of this applies to any player over the age of 30 as well. It doesn't really make good business sense. You have to be absolutely sure Grealish in this instance is going to have the absolute bit between his teeth and go out to prove Guardiola and everyone else absolutely wrong. Often players in his situation don't. They just don't have that fire any more. I'd imagine even if he agreed to drop his wages, we're looking at 150k a week minimum and we'd be tied into at least 4-5 years where his play and value is only going to drop further. All we'll have actually done is relieved Man City of an expensive millstone and put it around our own necks instead. There's no doubt he's better than almost everyone at the club, but deals like this really don't often make a lot of sense especially long term. There may be a short term burst like from Lingard and did we ever dodge a bullet not signing him permanently. We need to be targeting players coming up the other side of the bell curve rather than one sliding down the other side of it.
Season long loan deal with heavily subsidised wages? Maybe. Permanent deal? Alarm bells.

If he wants to play football then he'll have to take a wage cut, the poor sod. He might go abroad, or back to Villa, who knows, but suspect his time at City is up now. World cup next summer too.

How do you propose we pay his £300k a week wages?
Grealish is a nice thought, but a pipe dream.
Well I'm sure who will pay that for him now anyway. They recon only 30m transfer fee. At 29 I'm not sure this would be a good move though.
50% of his wages is £8m a year. I just can't see financially how it makes sense for City to do that.

Funny as recently I was just thinking of the prospect of Grealish playing for us and I saw on Newsnow there is a rumour this could happen. He woudl fit well into our left side with Bowen on the right and a no 9 like Fullkrug in the centre. I recon that would be good offensive line up.

Yup. Whoever is manager and head of scouting/recruitment can identify all the players they want and submit their wishlist (and haven't we just lt some slip through our fingers in recent years) but at the end of the day Sullivan always thinks he knows better on his own hunches and whims than the people who spend hours and weeks poring over these things can torpedo a deal for any player he 'doesn't fancy' or impose on the manager any player he does, regardless of whether they'll be any use whatsoever. Chopping and changing anyone else in the club is only addressing a symptom rather then the root cause. No other company would function properly or be successful in this fashion. We're only really staying in the Premier league despite him to an extent, and by virtue that we are a big enough club we usually have just about enough quality or spending power to dig ourselves out of a hole each time we fall into one. We'll get caught out sooner or later though.

To be honest I'm not holding my breath regarding this transfer window. We all know who the main problem is at our club and it's very little to do with whatever manager we have in situ.
We'll be linked all summer long to young up and coming players with potential only to hesitate and allow another club to get the signing over the line. Usually clubs that are far more modest and have less resources but are exemplary at doing their due diligence and homework. You gotta put the work in yourself - relying on agents to come up trumps is a false economy more often than not.
At least halfway into the window we'll show up at the bring and buy sale or flea market maybe even at the harbour expecting a juicy sardine to fall off the back of the trawler like a famous Frenchman once said.
Otherwise it's going to be an old antique which used to shine like the sun but is now beyond full restoration other than some cosmetic window dressing. Faded glamour and all that. We know the score, so does his offspring as does Vanessa Gold.
However he's still there - surely something is brewing? It's been beyond credibility for quite some time now
