Daily Quiz anyone?

Post easthammer »

"If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells? I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature. I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers. You mark your own answers and post your score. I will then record the scores and at the end of the ""lockdown"" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves) Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions. Any interest?"

"MD Nice to hear, but it doesn't surprise me about yorkshire folk. Back in the early 50s when my mum and dad got married they got a set of cutlery from one of my uncles as a wedding gift - finest sheffield steel in a nice box. Mum wrote thank you letters but also wrote to the firm and said how much she loved the product and asked where she could get any replacements. They wrote a couple of weeks later from the PA to their MD, sending her a lovely letter with first class tickets to Sheffield for her and her sister, and booked them into a posh hotel nearby. They were given a factory tour, taken out for a nice tea and a posh dinner and given some free gifts to take home. She instilled in me a deep love of Yorkshire folk ever since."

"Mad Dog I've very recently developed a sudden interest in Hudds. Been up there a couple of times for work over the last month (I'm up there tomorrow til Thursday) and am amazed by the place. I like the north and Yorkshire in particular. Huddersfield ticks my boxes - ex mill town, pennine back drop, valley, historic railway, yorkshire folk, but most importantly, you get this juxtaposition of incredible beauty next to abject ugliness on almost every part of town, and it seems right."
