I hope we've found a buyer for Emerson, otherwise it's not really a position that really needed looking at, IMO.

Yeah there is the hope that for once Macaulay and Potter’s scouting and analysis is so good that no one is really aware of some of the players we have identified. This Diouf might be an example of that as only us and one Italian club mentioned as making bids. But that would seem unlikely and a first since all clubs employ scouting networks across the globe and teams of data analysts. I suppose Brighton and Bournemouth have proved you can get players at the £20 - 30 million price point like Baleba and Edmilson etc that are exceptional but this is West Ham and Sullivan involved.  He believes he is still the best talent spotter and deal maker in football

Or that could be seen in a positive light. Recruit emerging talent and sell on at a profit rather than paying over the odds for established players who have little residual value at the end of their contracts.

Buying low and selling high is arguably the only way West Ham can hope to develop as a club

Goose, probably best not to tempt fate with Sullivan now handling all negotiations.

He will probably “move the goal posts” at the last minute by insisting on a 5 year payment scheme or part of the fee to be based on “add ons” like West Ham winning the treble including Champs league. Slavia Prague will get pissed off with beimg disrespected etc and deal collapses. Alternatively, he will bid £2 million or so less in “take it or leave it” style so the deal collapses last minute. Then an alternative turns up out of thin air via Barry Silkman, Will Salthouse or Mackay.

Sullivan simply cannot be trusted. He is duplicitious and dishonest in equal measure. 

We might actually sign a player

Sounds like a replacement for Emerson.

Here we go, the deal is done and El Hadji Malick Diouf will become the most expensive transfer in Czech league history.

I could be forced to “eat humble pie” ( again ) It seems that “Agent Soucek” is involved in the deal for this Senagelese left back Diouf from Sparta Prague?  Soucek is our only 100% proven agent having got Coufal to sign a few years back

West Ham make ‘approach’ to sign Oscar Mingueza



West Ham United have reportedly made an ‘approach’ to sign Celta Vigo star Oscar Mingueza, as per transfer journalist Graeme Bailey.

After ranking through Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy, the 26-year-old made his first team debut back in 2020 but found it difficult to play regularly at Camp Nou.

Therefore, he decided to leave and joined Celta Vigo in 2022. He initially took time to settle down in his new surroundings, but has established himself as a key player for Los Celestes in recent times.

Mingueza enjoyed a stellar campaign at Balaidos Stadium last term, scoring four goals and registering six assists in 31 league starts. Moreover, he helped his side keep eight clean sheets.

Having displayed eye-catching performances in La Liga, he has secured his place in the Spanish national team, but plays as a rotational option under Luis De La Fuente.

Now, on TBR Football, Bailey says that West Ham are interested in reinforcing the defensive department and have earmarked Mingueza as a serious option. They have already made an ‘approach’ to secure his service, and the player is open to moving to the London Stadium.

The 26-year-old is valued at around £17m by Transfermarkt and has entered the final year of his current contract. Therefore, Celta Vigo might be open to cashing-in on him to avoid losing him for free next year.

The journalist says that apart from Mingueza, El Hadji Malick Diouf of Slavia Prague is also on the Hammers’ radar, and they have already been in talks to purchase him. The player is ready to join the East London club.

Mingueza is a versatile player as he is comfortable playing in the RCB position and the right-back role. Moreover, he can provide cover in the RWB and LWB positions.

Following Vladimir Coufal’s departure, West Ham need a new right-sided defender, and Mingueza could be a shrewd acquisition as he is technically sound, comfortable playing out from the back, and is efficient going forward.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Hammers eventually manage to secure the Spain international’s service in this transfer window.

I suspect Sullivan is now so scared of getting it wrong yet again that he is “frozen” when it comes to spending anything. Cash flow dried up and no one bidding top dollar for his firesale.

He is “reaping what he sowed” after years of incompetence and spectacularly abysmal recruitment. He blames Steidten, Newman, Hussilos, Moyes, Lopetegui, who he has appointed. Anyone but himself.

Im sticking with my prediction that any business we do will be in August and too little, too late. Sullivan isca disaster amd always has been.

I see in one of those sidebar stories that Villa have replicated Chelsea’s scam by selling their women’s team to themselves for £50m to artificially give themselves extra PSR allowance
