The Odyssey

As the minute hand ticks round, you get it more and more. 3-0 down, but what an enlightening experience.

Poor old Billy is having a 'mare.

His own embarrassment reminds me of the embarrassment Mexico faces if the Azteca stadium isn't ready for the 2026 World Cup.

Anyone old enough to remember the amber coloured corrugated iron, that surrounded Newport County's old Somerton Park?

If that place didn't sum up the causes of the Crimean war, I don't know what did.

So what you are saying is there is absolutely no parallel no matter the insignificance at all on any level between Palestinians being forced to leave their home and West Ham fans being forced to move from Upton Park because lets face it we did not have a choice - you know what that means it wasn't our decision the Club Board decided. Even for the purposes of explaining to an idiot (thats you btw) None at all yeah!

Oh and even on a hypothetical basis (you do know what that means right, it means like a an imaginary situation, not a real thing) for the purpose of explaining to a simpleton like yourself lets "pretend" West Ham fans did protest vehemently about the move and were dead against it, that wouldn't work as an analogy because the Isreali army haven't bombed Green Street yeah!

Thanks for clarifying Goose - I bow to your immense understanding of the English language!

I look forward to the next analogy being used (without checking with you first) on WHO by some unsuspecting fool like me (but not necessarily me it could be someone else - just to make that clear so you don't get confused) that is highlighting a serious issue but because you don't agree that the analogy is 100% exactly the same as the situation it is being used to compare to, you decide to derail their argument because you look like a fucking idiot when its explained to you!

Or maybe it might be you that uses an analogy - but that's not likely you'll only fuck it up! "Der yeah like Palestinians being forceably removed from their homeland in Gaza is like "Asians" being forced out of Uganda" - Oh no hold on their Goosey President Amin did not bomb their homeland he just gave them 90 days to get out - and I know this because I used to work with a guy from India whose family were expelled at the time. So that analogy doesn't work!

Good Luck!
Praise the Lord I think Billy is finally catching on.
Yes there absolutely no parallel between west ham moving stadiums and what is going on in Gaza.

it's hilarious that you cannot comprehend that, while at the same time calling other people stupid.

Oh dear poor Goosey - still doesn't get it - yes you really are as stupid as I thought!

So now you think Palestinians being forcefully removed is not like Asians being forced out of Uganda!? Rightio...

End of discussion as you are clearly extremely dense like a black hole - oh wait that doesn't work because a black hole has a density of 4 x 1014 g/cm3 and Goosey is only 985 kg/cm!! Damn how do I get the message across now that Goose has redefined analogies!
You keep trying to move the goal posts Billy son - you're just making yourself look even more silly.

it doesn’t work because there are none. That is why other posters told you that your analogy doesn’t work. you can keep shouting and getting angry, but we both know that west ham weren't forced to move stadiums.

Yeah I agree why would anyone be talking about West Hams move to the new stadium - so now based on your definition analogies need to be current and in the news and exactly the same as the situation you are comparing them too, do you have any more criteria that need to be met in order to validate an analogy before its use? I'll definitely be coming back to you next time!

You seem determined to be proved right about something to prove an analogy incorrect when the point is the Trump plan is bonkers and will never happen and why should the Palestinians move out of their home - my point to you was you don't really understand analogies which is still clearly the case - no matter what you say, you don't understand the use of explaining a scenario by using a simpler analogy to make it simple for the hard of thinking - unfortunately you are clearly thicker than even I thought maybe I need to draw you a picture - do you have your crayons with you or have you eaten them all?

You could easily pull apart the scope of the poll and the source............ but its really not worth it.

Its pretty simple - If so many people were forced then where were the protests? where was the outrage? the boycott? none of it happened because most were happy for the club to move forward.

and all of this because you cannot admit that the analogy you posted up was a poor one. you carry on twisting yourself in knots instead of just admitting the analogy doesn't hold. Or you can carry on throwing at insults at anyone who disagrees with you. Take your pick.

The BoE slashed its UK economy growth forecast to 0.75% in 2025, down from a previous forecast of 1.5%. Inflation will rise to 3.7% later this year, driven up by rises in gas prices.

only fair to note then that Trumps trade war threats have pushed est US growth down from 2.7 to 1.9% not sure there's any economic winners anywhere in western world at moment, barring maybe Scandi countries
True, but i'd snap your arm off for 1.9% growth.

Labour's entire economic policy was built around growth. It's minimal, largely of their own doing.
So what now?

Those that supported the move did not actively pursue a move, that was the Club not the supporters - you're rewriting both what you said and history too! That poll was done once the decision had already been made the decision wasn't based on the Poll. Even Sullivan himself said that half of the supporters probably don't want to move. The poll was always going to be worded to bend the result as all polls issued by the Club.Nearly nine out of 10 match-going West Ham United supporters oppose the club’s proposed move to the Olympic Stadium according to a supporters’ group. WHU’S VIEW? polled 2,431 fans before the club’s April home games against Birmingham City, Brighton and Hove Albion, and Hull City. The poll asked: “Based on all available information do you agree with West Ham United’s proposed move to the Olympic Stadium?” 13.4% said ‘Yes’, while 86.6% said ‘No’. The results have been sent to the London Legacy Development Corporation, Mayor’s Office, FA, DCMS, and West Ham.
