"Pickle if you want to present it as a war crime, post up the facts. What date were the people killed? Provide evidence for this and who was in control of Bucha at the time? People were definitely killed in Bucha, no doubt about it. WHy were the bodies lain out on the edge of the street in a row? How did that happen?"

SBT2 Nothing reveals you more as a Kremlin mouthpiece than this attempt to present the Bucha massacre as propaganda.

Re: The war in Ukraine
"360 I will deal with your Crimea point, because the oil refinery point you make is economic now (earlier you suggested it would directly effect Russia's military efforts).. The relative damage to each other's economies is worthy of a separate conversation where we can look at the effect of sanctions as well. Nobody will control half of Crimea, it will be held intact by one side, militarily its impossible to control half of Crimea without land, sea and/or air access to the peninsula. Can Ukraine land troops in Crimea? Yes. Can Ukraine take and hold territory in Crimea over a longer period? No, its impossible. Whilst NATO has been helping Ukraine to target the Kerch bridge, russia has built a new railway line from Rostov-on-Don to Sevastopol via Mariupol, Berdyansk and Melitopol. The Kerch bridge is no longer used to transport military equipment or personnel."

Re: The war in Ukraine
"rio https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/defense/2023-06-26/patriot-proves-counter-hypersonic-capability# its been reported a lot in many military and aviation news sites unless their all lies. I think you are underestimating the effect of not being able to refine crude in Russia. These plants are hard to repair. Each plant makes between $5b-$15b a year for Russia. The concept of ""Achilles Heel"" springs to mind. Also, I think Ukraine can do without Crimea. I dont think thats what landing there means. I think landing Crimea is a military need and not about getting it back. They need to get behind Russias front line because of the all the mines Russia has laid down. Without a naval fleet to protect Crimea and if they get Western artillery to repel any air attacks, they can land there and push up behind Russian lines. Russia relies on the bridge to bring in logistics to the area. Losing the bridge is a huge problem for them which is why it's heavily defended. I still think the war will end with half the Donbas region being under Russian control, possibly half of Crimea and a whole load of NATO troops protecting the front lines forever. But anyways, we will see. I dont think 2yrs ago many people would have thought Ukraine would still be here. So predications are just that, predictions."

"Sold You have already proven that you know very little about the underlying reasons for this conflict, have wilfully ignored well over a decade of context and relevant history that led to this, and just blurt ""meh Russia bad"" much the same as you parroted the same crap about covid and Trump. I enjoy your predictablility. Get back to your Daily Mail website and sideboob shots of some bird called Holly."

"(this is not their fault, they should never have been put in this position). What put in a position to fight for liberty of their own country?? How very dare they.... they should have just rolled over like a labrador wanting its belly rubbed... that's how it used to work in the 50's eh??"

The massacre at Bucha is still one of the main reasons the Kremlin cannot be allowed to prevail in Ukraine https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2024/04/04/residents-in-bucha-remember-massacre-two-years-on

Re: The war in Ukraine
"360 What has been done to Ukraine by the colective west in the first place, and then by Russia and Ukraine's own political class and oligarchy. Hope that is clear. It would be better if those who wanted to destroy Russia, just went and fought Russia themselves and stopped using proxies and destroying their young generation. The attacks on refineries have little to no strategic effect, Ukraine is simply scoring propaganda and PR wins because they can not win militarily against a much larger neighbour (this is not their fault, they should never have been put in this position). Russia's oil and gas production is huge, the vast majority of output is exported and only provides economic support to their military efforts. Months and moths ago you parrotted what you heard in the western media about 'landing in Crimea'. The chances of Ukraine re-capturing Crimea are almost zero, and even if they could, the locals do not want to be part of Ukraine, at least 2 referenda have demonstrated this. I agree about the drones, Russia produces more drones than Ukraine can deploy, but they have completely transformed the battlefield forever. There is no evdience of a patriot missile managinbg to take out a hypersonic missile, in fact, Russia has developed a new S-500 system specifically to be able to take out hypersonic missiles, its the first air defence system in the world designed to do this and they are very coy about providing evidence of its effectiveness."

"Joyo I possibly am naive. For example, I believed that NATO's purpose was to deter the Soviet Union. I didn't want to believe that without an enemy they had no raison d'etre, so had to create one out of Russia etc. But who is more naive? Did you believe any of the following? The Ghost of Kiev The Goat of Kiev The avenger of Zhaporizhzhiya The old lady who took out a drone by throwing a jar of pickles at it The defenders of Snake Island Russia is running out of missiles (every month since April 2022) Russian economy is in tatters! Sanctions will destroy the russian economy in a few weeks Russian soldiers are only equipped with shovels Putin has cancer Putin has had several heart attacks Putin has VD/syphilis/AIDS Russians have deployed mobile crematoria to hide the evidence of dead soldiers and civilians The massacre of Bucha Russians bombed their own prisoner of war camp Russians bombed the nuclear power plant that they occupied Russia bombed the market in Kostiantynivka Russia blew up Nordstream Russians killed their own citizens in the Crocus Hall I could go on"

Re: The war in Ukraine
"Rio “ What has been done to Ukraine is evil, pure evil” Hopefully you mean by Russia? They may have had a settlement but I doubt you can trust the Russians to stick to one since they didn’t stick to the last one either. Ultimately, if the country as a whole doesn’t want to fight they could all just down tools. But they do. So that’s what it is. Let them decide not to fight rather than stop giving them the means. Right now it seems that the attacks on the refinery’s are having a devastating effect on Russia’s ability to not only fund their war but also provide fuel for their military. So let’s see what the terms are when they get to the negotiating table. Months and months ago I said they were going to land on crimea. I still think they’re working their way to do doing that. If they manage to blow up the Kerch bridge russia will be kind of fucked. I’m hoping they manage it. The drone situation has totally changed the shape of modern warfare. Not only is it really expensive to shoot them down, I think the altitude they fly at and their speed plus the amount, is really proving problematic for Russia which is not used to having air defences all around Russia. So many things are now targets. Ukraine hit a refinery 1000km away now. Also, someone mentioned hypersonic missiles from Russia. Seems like patriots have proven to have shot some of these down.. So are they really unstoppable?"

"If we accept the argument that Russia's military is shit and full of drunks who have no idea what they are doing (fighting with shovels, robbing chips from washing machines), then can we stop suggesting that they are going to invade Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Romania and Moldova?"

Re: The war in Ukraine
"It takes serious resources to maintain modern air power on a long-term basis. Running a strategic nuclear capable air force is barely within the capabilities of even a vast mineral extraction economy like Russia’s. Just keeping up the realistic capability of hitting London, Paris or Berlin, let alone New York with hypersonically delivered nukes requires a fleet of serviceable Tu-150s and Ukraine has taken out at least a couple of those. The Kremlin’s current meagre aerial activity over Ukraine is the absolute maximum it can hope to muster."
Re: The war in Ukraine
"Russia, in terms of its military capability and manpower, is actually underperforming against Ukraine. Russia should be much better at capitalising on this superiority. Also bigging up the performance of Russia’s airforce when it faces minimal opposition shows a degree of ignorance about the situation on the ground."
Re: The war in Ukraine
"I’d say the Russian Navy is a bit of a disaster, Air Force seems to be pretty decent, missile technology is top notch, especially the hyper sonic missiles. Not sure how their Tanks and helicopters compare."
Re: The war in Ukraine
"How can the murder and slaughter by Putin be classed as playing a blinder One thing this war, sorry special military operation has proved is how shit the Russian army is and how their weapons are decades behind The West"
Re: The war in Ukraine
"A bit of perspective. So looking at where things stand you could say Putin has played a blinder, he has Crimea he also has control of a big part of Ukraine now too. However, the West does now have Finland as part of NATO and there is also a good chance that a huge part of Ukraine will join NATO too at some point. WHO supplies the Gas to Europe will be an interesting development, something to keep an eye on. So it could be argued that both Russia and the West have come away stronger all winners except the Ukraine people of course."
