Thank heavens Sullivan is in charge of all transfers and loans again. No more, just getting it done and agreeing terms. Sully will show the “art of the deal” by adding last minute clauses and terms that include ridiculous performance targets, payments in long, drawn out installments and insusyence on using his agents or not paying intermediaries he doesn’t know.
“Dont wait up”

West Ham are still pushing to sign striker Evan Ferguson, who is their top priority target for this window. Brighton are willing to negotiate a loan or permanent move for the 20 year old.

Yep ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN
“Razzle Dazzle” Sullivan special for the new manager. In Sullivan’ s speech impaired voice: “He’s played for Liverpool, Arsenal and England Graham, blinding signing I’ve got you, thank me and Salty later”.

Loved watching Ox in his day. Such a fantastic midfielder, but even in his prime had horrible connective tissue. I don't imagine that has gotten better since he's the wrong side of 30. Will definitely come cheap. Sounds like the exact sort of crap deal Sullivan would be in for. Hasn't played a season this decade without an injury layoff over a hundred days.

It's not a rumour about us, as such, but a good journo friend just got back from Germany where he'd been sent to do a feature on Kane and co (typical English media approach to German football!).
He picked up that Bayern are looking to offload Austrian international Konrad Laimer because they feel they have too many central midfielders. He's played 15 times this season, but eight of them as substitute.
He would be perfect for a club like us, and playing in Potter's system. Like Soucek, this guy runs all fucking day. But, unlike Tommy, this guy can pass and has some vision once he has the ball at his feet. Also chips in with a goal or two. If you want "legs" in midfield, but don't want us to look like the Mario Fellaini fan club, then that's the sort of realistic target you want. He'd probably leave Bayern for the right Premier League club, as he's not a first choice when they're all fit.

Levi Garcia is the one we should do this January. Likely circa 15 million, sensible wages and then decent back up when/if we sign big in the summer.

You've not seen his highlights from this season if you think he's reliable.
He looks like he's shat his pants.
Around the same price as Fullkrug he won't come cheap either, nor will his wages. At the very least a try before we buy deal or I'd leave it and look elsewhere.

Hot on the heels of successes of Fullkrug, Scamacca, Ings, Haller, Zaza, West Ham are preparing to run into a blender again trying to sign this fucking Ferguson plum from Brighton, yeah Brighton that have been starting 45 year old Danny Wellbeck. Not fast, no track record to speak, no pace and perenially injured, young Fergie seems like a textbook signing for a sharp business mind like Sully's. What could possibly go wrong?
I'd go for Brobbey myself, looks competent and reliable, is young and won't cost the earth. Sensible signing. Him or Guessand.

As it stands, we're going to need two new strikers next season.
If we're going to be fighting for a European spot next season we need another two up top. Spending £25 - £30m on a young striker doesn't appear too much of a gamble to me.
Personally I don't think it's worth having two out and out strikers, unless one of them is an u-21 who's still learning. Strikers rely a lot on form and confidence and if the 2nd choice striker is only getting a few minutes here and there then he probably won't be much good when actually called on. Better off getting a LW/RW/CAM who can also play as CF if required. I can't think of any top team who doesn't do this. Man City only have Haaland, Barcelona only Lewandowski, Liverpool only Nunez, etc. etc.

Brian Brobbey, targeted by Tottenham, West Ham, and Everton, has reportedly chosen his preferred Premier League destination. All three clubs are seeking January reinforcements, and the
Ajax striker is highly regarded in the Netherlands. According to
De Telegraaf,
Tottenham is
Brobbey's top choice for their forward line.

Brobbey seems good value at the moment a season where he's had a bit of a downturn in form lowering his price. A bit of a gamble that the downturn is temporary but at 22 a gamble worth taking in my opinion
He's a massive unit with a bit of pace and would give us some presence up the pitch which would occupy defenders meaning the likes of Bowen and Kudus won't be doubled up on.
Yes it's not crucial that we make signings in this window but if an opportunity comes along for a player that looks a reasonable gamble we should take it
Put it this way...if his form had remained as it was last season, we wouldn't even be in the conversation.
The club one would assume are somewhat ignoring the goals and assists, and assessing the player based in his in-game attributes...as goals and assists is all a bit crude and very reliant on the other players in the side as alwell as the way the manager sets up.
As it stands, we're going to need two new strikers next season.
If Antonio comes back (massive if, based on age, recovery and contract) he won't be half the player he was - which let's face it, wasn't good enough anyway.
Ings just isn't up to it and the jury is still out on the German.
If we're going to be fighting for a European spot next season we need another two up top. Spending £25 - £30m on a young striker doesn't appear too much of a gamble to me.

It's hardly only us is it ffs, nothing rarely happens in Jan, think only City have bought this window, maybe Villa one player. I'd scrap the Jan window, or just make it a week, it's a distraction for a whole month. Still fancy we will bring in a forward it but it won't be until Monday. Feel free to rant away in the interim.
Agreed, Jan window is a nonsense really and only usually benefits the selling clubs. I don’t get all the panic amongst fans to see us buy someone. We won’t go down, won’t get into Europe and Potter is still evaluating the squad. Bowen’s almost back and I’d rather we kept any funds for the summer. I can see us getting Ferguson on loan still.
Yep, the irony is that Potter isn't probably fussed at all and probably sees it as you have outlined. Tbf though, this thread is pretty calm as most can probably see the same. Another forward option would be nice though.
