Rugby World Cup

Not a massive fan of this sport. Seems everyone forgets the rules when on the pitch and give away stupid penalties. One thing thoug I'm pretty sure it was meant to be played in 30C temperatures. Those big guys will be collapsing in this heat.

"Just about every serious team in the competion want to beat England more that any other team and generally hate us. I don't expect the officals to be so ''neutral"" either. Decisions will go against us."

"northbankboy68 3:52 Sat Sep 9 Re: Rugby World Cup The VAR management should take a look at how it is done professionally by rugby's TMO. That aged well given the decisions/non-decisions this weekend, but I favour the sentiment."

"Why was Curry's accidental head clash upgraded to red? What was he meant to do? Wales no yellows yet on their on goal line. 5 penalties. Fiji get an instant yellow, then concede. The Saffas cause a head clash, slience. There I was, claiming that rugby VAR/TMO was better than football."

"@JAC when l was a teenager me and my mate went around Europe ,anyway we were in Marseilles around the port , stayed in some ramshackle hotel , left early in the morning couldn’t wait to get out , looked at the map next stop Cassis didn’t look too far on the map , we thought we could walk it with big backpacks , got about a quarter of the way we was done in the heat , next thing this French bloke asked us where we were going , we told him , he laughed and said get in , and took us to Cassis, only problem was it was bastille day, this was a Friday and all the banks were shut till Monday !"

"Great atmosphere in Marseilles on Saturday...we were massively outnumbered outside the ground where we were drinking but inside it was electric. We did better than I thought we would, especially with 14 me for most of the 80 minutes and Ford had his best game for us and our defence was immense. It kicked off along from us which is rare at rugby, fuck the Aggies. Trying to get the old mixed grill healthy again before Lille next week. Marseilles is a shit hole...we stayed in Cassis, great place."

"To explain, I was born in Wales, moved to Ilford and then Redbridge when I was 3, step-dad was a Hammer and took me to the games, became a Hammer myself, moved back to Wales when I was 10."

"I'm not Welsh or Fijian, so I couldn't give a fuck who won, but the referee in that match was a fucking disgrace. Completely biased towards Wales and shamelessly inconsistent in his handing out of yellow cards. Four pens against Wales and a final warning for offsides while defending the line to Wales - nobody yellow carded. First offence by a Fijian, way further out from the line - yellow card. Another four pens in front of the line against Wales and a final warning - still no card. And the two tries disallowed against Fiji both looked like officials desperately trying to find a reason not to give a try, particularly the second where the referee expressly stated that he thought it was a try, checked for evidence of not grounding and then disallowed it for something completely different. Curry sent off and the Argie just yellowed for a far worse offence in the England game. One of the Saffas completely unpunished for a worse offence than either in the Scotland game. It's bent rubbish."

"I get we have a lot of support from oversees, but in instances I'm just curious as to how league football seems to have a different reaction to other sports. For instance Alfs is a proud Welshman and does his bit to kick back on any flack he may receive on any sport Wales are competing in, and will let it known he doesn't take shit from the English even in international football. Yet West Ham have played Welsh teams where we've made sheep noises & sang the national anthem over & over......how does he separate that? Is he Welsh first or West Ham at those moments.....it is surely a curiosity as to how this is viewed by our foreign followers.....seeing as we are a huge piss taking crowd and have always been and it is likely to be one of the attractions to supporting West Ham?"

I'm not an expert on rugby so can someone explain how Wales can give away about 5 penalties in front of the posts and not get a yellow but Fiji commit one and get someone sent to the bin? I can't help. I don't know how both sides get away with so much handball. Are the refs blind?

Browno - you can support West Ham and not be English.

Also you say 'we'. Why don't you fuck off and support TNS or some other Welsh team. Clearly you lose your Welsh side when it comes to PL football

Thats what you call a game rugby. Two teams going for trys and playing running rugby. No wonder England are regarded as one of the most boring teams to watch. All boots and forward play. Dull .

Wales are embarrassing. Have been cheating all night. So much for the comparisons to football and a fair sport. They are absolutely shit
