"Irons - the Steelers are all about whether Roethlisberger's knees and back can hold up. He still has an absolute cannon for an arm, despite surgeries, and when he's hitting people like Claypool in the deep then any opponent will struggle. They are a decent all-round team, both offensively and defensively. Good players in all key positions. They always seem to scout and draft well. But as has been the case since 2005, Roethlisberger;s fitness is the thing that lifts them to SB contenders or not. Savvy, savvy coach Mike Tomlin. Feels like he was appointed five minutes ago, but he's been in the job for 13 years now and has seen it all. He's still only 48 years-old, too. If I had not been won over by the Jets' mental fans on an early trip to Gotham, I probably would have been a Steelers fan. Either them or the Browns. I like the hardened blue collar cities."

"Trundle - I watched it, as always, through the gaps in my fingers. Every week is a horror show under Gase. I genuinely think he's the worst NFL coach of all time. TM - yep, next year's draft is going to include some excellent QBs. Fields and Ehrlinger look very good, too. Lawrence seems to be the consensus stud pick. The respected commentators say he's the best kid coming out of college since Andrew Luck - I don't know if that's true or not - but we'd no doubt find a way to waste him. The thing about the non-Lawrence picks is what the Jets would do if Lawrence doesn't make himself available. I'm still a fan of Darnold, even though he hasn't progressed as quickly as we'd like under the idiot Gase. For my money, that's on Gase and Darnold remains a good prospect. He was the #3 overall pick, has good all-round reads and accuracy. He's been mistake prone - too many intercpetions when he's played - but, again, that's down to Gase's fucking awful coaching manual and lack of leadership for the kid. Darnold was also a year younger than most draftees when we picked him up - so has a tiny bit more time to develop than most. The important thing is getting Gase away from him. My guess is that if Lawrence runs a mile (which he might) then the Jets might retain Darnold as starting QB and trade out the #1 pick for several strong choices. That way, having sacked Gase (which is inevitable) the new HC cann build something with a lot of strong picks. But it will all depend on Lawrence. If he's available, then it seems the Jets will take him as #1 if we have that pick and trade Darnold (who has also been injury prone - he missed y'days game, too)."

"SB, I wouldn't worry about a new QB until you bin that freak, Gase. I watched Fields play again on saturday night and he was very impressive. very poised, stronger than he looks (a few times defenders got pressure yet bounced off him) and he can also take off & run. there's a few more that will be coming out of college next year, could be one of the best group of QBs ever to turn pro. I don't think we'll get near Fields or Lawrence but I'd be happy with Zach Wilson or Tre Lance. even Ehlinger or Mac Jones would be a good pick"

He looks highly organised, makes quick reads and he's got a good arm. Looks like Rivers' successor has arrived. That said, hard to judge many QBs when the opposition is the worst Jets team in franchise history. Trevor Lawrence is probably shitting himself about declaring for the draft now. No doubt his agent will be saying: 'You've got to cash in at some point, Trev. You could get hurt tomorrow and never play again.' And he's thinking: 'Yeah, but there's cashing-in and there's cashing out...'"
