Rugby World Cup

Post Swiss. »

Not a massive fan of this sport. Seems everyone forgets the rules when on the pitch and give away stupid penalties. One thing thoug I'm pretty sure it was meant to be played in 30C temperatures. Those big guys will be collapsing in this heat.

Yeah both borderline decisions in opinion the Curry incident looks bad with a head clash and I understand they are trying to cut it out but you either Red Card all head clashes/hits and mitigate or leave it as a decision for the TMO to make and there will be no consistency... the Argie hit on Ford I think is the obvious Red he was not in control and only luck stopped him hitting Ford in the head first which would likely have meant a red card...

He was trying to put a hit on the fullback and came in high. If that goes slightly wrong then red card it is. It’s the head-to-head contact that made it a red card. Bit unfortunate but he was asking for trouble trying to assert himself on the game. Reward was not worth the risk.

"Not a big rugby fan but try to get into the big tournaments, it's not that pleasing on the eye to watch and very stop start. The drop goals seem easy to score, I found it odd that the commentators said it's not that common these days, why when it's easy to do?"

This is what happens when you pick half backs who like to attack. Not sure Farrell gets back when his ban emds.

"Fucking hell, that's more like it. More of this please. I decided to give up rugby due to getting knocked out three times in a few months. The first one was my fault (got my head the wrong on a tackle) but the next two were due to high tackles. It is not a split second thing. The tackler can choose how they take people down, chop tackles were my thing, and going high is an active choice that increases the risk of hitting the player in the head."

"Just seen the Curry replay. No way should ghat be an upgrade. Couldn’t move out the way, enough motivation. Ridiculous. The Argentinian one on Ford was more of a red."

The only explanation you need zico is that it's England. Simple as that.

"Not really a rugby man so can someone clear up those decisions. Argentinian flying through the air, lands and to me looks like an accidental clash of heads but it's a red card? Moments later the Argentine player deliberately jumps into and flattens our player . No red?"

"I used to enjoy the Rugby, but I've turned that off. Utterly fucking ridiculous, a clear split second accident punished that severely, and a calculated jump straight into a bloke standing still and smashing him in the head just a yellow. Only happens to England. Remember Freddie Steward's sending off that got overturned? Wasn't close to being as bad as that by the Argie."

Some players have rocks for brains but the rugby lawmakers are ruining the game. Just how many back room refs does the game need. They need reminding that it is very much a contact sport and that mistakes will happen. And some berks want football to follow the lead of such an over officiated sport.

"Hold up a minute. A split second badly time head clash, Vs a geezer flying through the air and smashing our statuesque fly half on the head with his hip? That's an absolute fucking joke. We all know what the decisions would have been were that switched round."
