​​​​​​In the past he's favoured a 3-4-3 formation...hard to see how we can do that currently with only 3 senior CBs, one of whom is injured. He's also played wingers (Solly March as an example) in the wing back roles.

Typically when a 3-4-3 gets announced on a match day the manager is immediately described as being too negative, too cautious etc. I guess it depends on the composition of the 4.

He's given young players chances...hopefully that continues at West Ham.

Club spending 25 million on a player I expect them to be a decent addition to the squad right away. Since when have we been able to spend that amount of money on a player and give them a couple of years to come good?

When Sunderland sell Jobe Bellingham (same age) for the amount of money we bought this kid for as a comparison you can start to grasp how poor a signing this lad is going to be.

No, but when you are starting 5 cms and playing a winger upfront. The only other winger stays on the bench and does not play a single minute. The old manager barely played him either.

I don't want players to feature who aren't deemed good enough and its looking like 25m for the young Brazilian is going to be a Savio mk II.

Although it was a good first half for us, let's not forget that Villa were absolutely woeful in that first half. They were not much better in the second but still made their win look comfortable.

Potter has got his work cut out and will have to sail choppy waters.

But first half l, were Villa so bad because we were so good? It's rare both teams play well when part of the job is to stop the other team playing.

I’m hoping we try Kudus as a central striker and benefit from one of those unintended consequences that sometimes happen when forced to do something. 

Kudus will need decent service though and is not Antonio. Cannot just hit long diagonals or straight balls for him to run onto using his strength. Kudus has speed and is strong but not a bulldozer type like Antonio.  But has to do better than Ings surely?  He can run into space well and is good on the half turn with a ball into feet. Alternatively a ball to his chest and unlike Antonio he might get a free kick when CBs blatantly slam into the back of him?  Not confident that he can finish but again cannot be any worse than Antonio was.  

Anyway, hoping it will be a huge success if tried.   Of course with Summerville out it might not even happen as who will play wide left? Would Guilherme be ready to start wide right? He has not pulled up too many trees in brief  cameo appearances but did hit a post in one game.  

Whats for sure is that Moyes really left the squad in a shocking state. Adding 8 outfield players and one 3rd choice goalkeeper was not enough to plug the gap in quality as its always likely that a few transfers dont fit.

Possibly. It's just the way he spoke about the alternatives in the Squad that suggested to me he thinks we have enough anyway to cope. Even though Ings himself is a ticking time bomb with his bad injury history as well, just like he did pulling up in the Leicester game 1st half. We need at least 1 new Striker in amd hopefully we can get one in, we need it in my opinion.
