May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.
Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

I've thought this as well at points. He's beholden to someone which is influencing decision making. It does make a little more sense than he's just 'that' stupid. Maybe he is, though.

his agent friends control everything.
I've a suspicion that his agent "friends" are actually bank-rolling him outside WHU, to such an extent that he can't refuse to deal with them or walk away.
Nothing to link this "influence" directly, legally or otherwise, with West Ham, though, it's just "mates helping one another out" on a personal level..."looking after your own", as it were.

Mbuemo has always looked decent when I've seen him. Surprised Brentford held on for so long TBH. Looks fucking miles older than 25 though. Same genes as Alvarez.

Manchester United are expected to open talks with Brentford over striker Bryan Mbeumo.

I hope we don't go for any of Southampton's defence given how awful they were.
There's also a rumour today about buying Tavernier from Bournemouth, to replace Kudus.
I'm not hopeful our squad is going to be any better from last season, if those are the types of players we're shopping around for.
it's classic asset stripping. he won't dare go the full monty and sell bowen......yet

Another Moyes/Sullivan classic.
Hugo Ektike...22 years old and looks like going to Chelsea or Liverpool for 70m odd.
We had numerous chances to take him from PSG for sub 20m.
The number of forwards that fall into this type of category just grows and grows.
It is pretty depressing to see that we identified a bunch of strikers who are now hot property and Sullivan never sanctioned buying any of them. What a talent spotting visionary. Turned down Gyokeres didn’t he, and at least 1-2 of the other names in recent years? It’s ok though. He got us Danny Ings.

What you have to admire is that between Sullivan, Lopetegui and Potter, they've some how managed to convince the fan base that selling our most talented, most coveted international stars in Paqueta, Kudus, Alvarez, Soucek and Todibo in order to replace them with free agents, Danish league/Belgian league 'stars', and Championship hopefuls is not just acceptable, but desirable and needs to happen ASAP.
It's insane. Be like a manager having inherited Di Canio in his pomp, using him as a target man number 9, and then convincing the fan base he was shit and the problem and that John Fashanu was what was needed, and not the manager's ability to harness the talent available.

For Sullivan to have fucked off on holiday while the transfer window is open is a joke.

If you're after a full back who is OK going forward but hopeless defending then Walker-Peters is your man

Sullivan has allegedly said he is better at identifying players than Steidten and previous peiole that were at the club like Husilos and Newman. This has always been Sullivan’s view and why he does not want or believe we need a DOF. Its also why he only made Steidten a Tech Director and why he, Lopetegui and Steidten had 3 picks each last summer. No other club operates this way.
Macaulay and Potter are about to find out that Sullivan controls everything. Firstly we aint buying anyone until we sell because we have no cash. He’s on holiday so that confirms we aint buying in this mini window until 10th June. He will then wait to try to tet £85 million for Kudus, £25 million for Aguerd and as much as possible for the likes of Soucek, Emerson, Todibo, Mavro, Alvarez, Fullkrug anyone to get £100 million in cash in the pot. Clubs wont be offering what he wants and the delay to our business will continue. Then it will be late in the window before we buy anyone. Potter and Macaulay targets will either be gone or Sullivan will say they are too young, lack Premiership experience etc. Sullivan handles negotiations. He can also scupper any deal with derisory bids, insistence on unrealistic terms, payment plans and refusal to pay agents etc
It will all lead to last minute deals imo which will mean “conveniently” having to use Sullivans agents and hence the “bargains” and his choices.
A miserable, depressing scenario? Might not happen some will say? Hopefully not but its what always happened before or most seasons he was de facto DOF.
Very very high probability this is how it plays out.
That the self appointed 'DOF' fucks off on holiday as soon as the window opens tells you all you need to know.
The man is a total omnishambles and lives in a vacuum.

I'd go for Ramsdale. He'd be ideal for us. I'd go for Harwood-Bellis, Walker- Peters, McAtee and any other half decent young English player with the right mentality and attitude. Our aim should be to create an image of being the best PL team for young English players.
I get the principle but Walker Peters isn't what I'd call young... neither is Ramsdale particularly

Areola is average at best - I’d bring in 2 goalkeepers and sell that clown given his wages.
He always has a mistake in him and if he was any good someone half decent would have tried to sign him
Cant be that fucking hard.
*sighs

Ramsdale's turned in to Relegation Roger's twin. It's enough to put me off as I don't think he'd come cheap either.
I get the reservations about him but we wouldn’t stand a chance if there wasn’t any. Fabianski was less effective at Arsenal and got relegated with Swansea.

Has been known Ferret son
Would have thought you had more pressing matters right now though, who (or will) could replace big Ange for your lot?
But yeah im a bit pessimistic West Ham right now, not least as we got ourselves in great position to step up after that Cup final win and the Rice money but what did we do? Keep a manager a season too long, fuck up the replacement and piss a good portion of the Transfer budget up against a wall, 1 step forward and then 2 back, typical West Ham
