NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Away from the Jets, it's shaping up to be a decent season. The Steelers look surprisingly good. Roethlisberger is throwing superbly again despite being 147 years-old and his grand-dad, Brady, who must be older than Noah, is on fire in Tampa. Wilson also looking good up in Seattle. Looks like the vets are going to give the superb Mahomes a run for his money this season."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"On a serious note, I'm beginning to think that this will genuinely be a 0-16 or 1-15 season for the Jets. I'd be amazed, genuinely, if we won two or more games from here. That Fish game was supposed to be one of our 'weaker' match-ups for a few weeks - and they could have won it while dressed as comedy fish characters."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"IronsofCanada/Scorch, Many thanks for the attempt to cheer us up! The worst thing about y'day was not even getting walloped by the Fish. It was seeing Gase's press conference afterwards, during which he continued to insist that he's making progress! We are 0-6 for just the second time in our (hardly glorious) history. The only other occasion was when Rich Kotite - now relegated to being just the second worst coach in NFL history - was in charge and we went 1-15. Somebody needs to stage an intervention at the Jets. Even the Giants won yesterday. And Atlanta. How bad must we be?!"

"Well on the plus side, the Jets are going to get a run at Trevor Lawrence, or a load of draft picks in exchange for him."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"from ESPN, and more evidence why Gase should be gone....... Frank Gore is a mild-mannered guy, but the frustration poured out of him after the game. ""We can't wait until the f""î""î""î fourth quarter,"" he said. ""We can't f""î""î""î wait until the fourth quarter to f ""î""î- want to start playing ball."" He lamented the missed opportunities, saying, ""I'm sick of it, man."" That said, he doesn't believe it's hopeless. He sees potential as long as they clean up some details."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"He should be shot. Twice. In the back of the head. His head should then be removed and placed on a spike at the entrance to the New Jersey Turnpike as a warning to all. The remainder of his body should be chopped into tiny pieces, the meat fed to dogs, the bones fed to pigs and their shit later sealed in a lead-lined coffin and buried in an un-marked nine-foot-deep grave somewhere in the Virginia hills. All remaining traces of his blood and hair should then be removed from the sidelines, offered to a secretive science programme experimenting with the distortion of cellular structures and washed clean of all origin DNA. At the end of the programme, those scientists would need to be sacrificed for the good of humanity. Finally, with no trace of the man left on Earth, except his severed head on a spike at the entrance to New York city, we can all sleep easy again. I'm not a fan."

You might be a bit tipsy but I'd have to be on acid to think that trade works for me. I've countered.

"They have had a couple of running backs with questionable attitudes over the last few years, and it hasn't worked out for them. Larry Johnson Kareen Hunt"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"His body still works fine - he's fresh, having been largely ignored by the idiot Gase for a season and a half. He had a slight hamstring issue earlier in the season, although many Jets fans think that was just him protesting about lack of game time/carries. He'll be 100% for the Chiefs when he turns up for training. Given their existing quality, that's a bit worrying."

If his body still works then that makes the Chiefs even more terrifying. What an array of weapons. Good luck defending that.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Good luck to him. Bell can be a pain in the backside with what he says etc, but I hope he does well wherever he goes - because it will further highlight the need for a radical overhaul at the Jets. He's a talented running back, no question, and he should go somewhere he'll get either starts or many more carries. Having invested massively in him, the Jets treated him badly. They don't know what to do with talented players."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"TM - I'm all for the owners' association investigating the Jets. Even if an investigation didn't turn up any dodgy practices (I don't think they are corrupt - just grossly incompetent), it might at least light a fire under the Johnsons and either force them to improve/learn and/or sell up and get out. It would be a brave move, but the idea of an investigation into a team owned by Trump's ambassador to the UK would certainly focus some minds! The serious point is that the Johnsons are just content to be owners and nothing more. They will let the franchise drift indefinitely and enjoy the kudos of being a major sports franchise owner (and no doubt become even richer on the back of it: the Jets generally make a decent amount of money). Crowder has been one of our few successes in recent years. He's a really decent receiver. Herndon is, like Bell, criminally under-used by TIG. All good players are. I keep hearing people say - even now - what a 'great' offensive mind Gase is. Where's the evidence for that?! He has been an abysmal failure at the Jets and the Dolphins. Particularly on the offensive side of the ball. His only ""success"" offensively is when he had the happy accident of being a coach at Denver when they had Peyton Manning - one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. Manning would have made Rich Kotite look good. Gase is not an offensive mind of any description, let alone a ""great"" one. He's a fucking bog-eyed fraud."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"SB, because I play a lot of fantasy now on sites like fanduel, I take more interest than ever in skill players and while bell & crowder were out, it was criminal the way he never got someone like herndon more involved. when those first two mentioned were fit, only crowder seemed to get involved in the game planning with bell, just a spare part. I love frank gore but gase bringing him to the club & playing him is symptomatic of his lack of idea. frank was done a year ago, and now he's alienated the best running back. who cares if he has an attitude problem if he can get touchdowns? I'm sure the nfl owners association was set up to stop mis-management of franchises, and it's overdue your lot were investigated"
