"watched MURDER MOUNTAIN on netflix. documentary about Humboldt County in California and focuses primarily on a murder of a worker on of the growing farms, and the other problems that have arisen since the influx of outsiders and criminal element. the series also touches on the various permits and fees that local government has placed on the growers since they legalised it. what they couldn't do with raids and the army, they're now achieving with ridiculous fines and taxes and many growers going out of business. as one of the farmers says, it's all being set up for corporations and big business to profit from the legalisation. interesting subject but probably a few episodes too many started watching YOU on netflix. a creepy drama about a bookstore owner stalking some bird"

"Finished Patriot series 2 a month or so ago (it had just come to Prime) Coal black comedy but had me laughing out loud with some equally poignant moments. Mocks Americans, the French and even Luxembourgers also equally."

If you like Making a murderer check out an innocent man on netflix. Cut from the same cloth and the US law system shows up as fucked again...oh and some dodgy cops by the look of it too. 9/10.

Takashi Miike 1:52 Tue Dec 18 Thanks for the heads up. I am a fan of Kim Coates from way back and including Son of Anarchy but he has done some stinkers along the way.

If you want something rare - a Canadian show that is not rubbish: I just finished the third series of Travelers on Netflix. One of my favourite sci-fi premises of recent years and decently well acted. Thinking of starting Bad Blood next.

"Gph If only. My mother- in-law loves the show but not sure if that is because it is filmed near where she lives. Partially filmed really, the parts where the mountains are right there are in Waterton near where my mom lives. (If any of you travel, pick Waterton over Banff, Jasper or even Kananaskis these days. The tourism is there but not as bad yet and you can still find some nature not dolled up. Unless you go for skiing, I guess.)"

Tin Star's not bad. Makes Canada seem like trench warfare - long periods of boredom punctuated by extreme violence (can't remember whose description of WW1 I'm ripping off here - sorry)
