"theaxeman 11:34 Wed Oct 17. I have seen all 9 seasons , only the past year and going back again to download. There are so many lists of the best episodes etc. For me its impossible to choose one, as forget how good the ones off the favourites list are also sublime. Forgot about Kamikazi Bingo - watched yesterday and man the line about the Japanese Dad being a Kamikaze Pilot and in a care home now and Larry simply implies he must have been crap at it or changed his mind haha and the Japanese fella replies - well he ""Grazed the ship"" cracked me up. Grazed. ffs Larry David and co have first class use of English. The Terrorist is a bit slow but the final when he shouts Fatwa and terrorist at the funeral is fucking funny. Watching Palestinian Chicken then change of genre and trying making murderer 2."

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
"Started on MaM2 last night. A few thoughts: 1) I forgot how much I loathed Brendan Dassey's first trial lawyer, and it brought it all flooding back. Not good for the blood pressure. 2) Listening to Brendan Dassey and his mother happily making plans for his release was very sad in light of subsequent events. 3) Seeing footage again of his police interview/footage made me grind my teeth down to stumps 4) Rather keen on Avery's new lawyer. Makes me chuckle. I would hate to find myself on the wrong side of an argument with her. 5) We were told by the prosecution in MaM1 that 'sweat DNA' from Avery was found on the bonnet latch of Teresa's car, and this was obviously not something which could be explained away or 'planted' by corrupt coppers. It's the one piece of evidence that casts doubt on Avery's claims of innocence. But the defence team in MaM2 says it wasn't sweat, and in any case it's nigh on impossible to get DNA from sweat. Something like that. So what WAS the non-blood source of DNA? Saliva? Seriously?? And why didn't his original defence lawyers pull this aspect of the forensic evidence apart? Trying to keep an open mind on Avery's guilt or innocence. However, the American legal system is not covering itself in glory here, especially with regard to Brendan Dassey."

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
I've found Making A Murderer 2 a bit disappointing so far. Obviously lacks the drama / unfolding of the first and is a bit slow and reliant upon long interviews (e.g. 'What did you think of such and such...'). Anyway maybe the pace will pick up.

"Maniac had a charm about it which I liked. It was just missing something that would turn it from OK to fantastic. I thought it dragged on in places, as American series are prone to do. Sometimes you can tell a story in 6 episodes rather than 10."

"Two unhappy people, one schizophrenic, one damaged and bereaved, help each other to become less fucked up. Big Pharma and the cynical self-help/pop psychology industries are shown up for the damage they do. But it's kept light hearted and not political or preachy at all, which is a rarity on TV these days, and quite refreshing. I watched it with a grin on my face. It was sort of like a cross between Brave New World and Donnie Darko, if the Coen Bros directed it. Won't be everyone's cup of tea."

"Finished Maniac last night. Loved it. It didn't take itself seriously, and was deliciously silly in places. Very moving scene where Annie says sorry and goodbye to her sister. Plus a happy ending. Jonah Hill's mumbling was easily solved via use of subtitles."

"Just finished BCS and was plesantly surprised. Was expecting to cling on to Breakung Bad's coat tails a bit but was very good in its own right. And another vote for Curb, best comedy iv'e seen in years, the blacks were absolutely brilliant. So many highlights but Wanda's visit to Larry's with his racist dog had me in bits."

There are many threads on the front page where you're already engaged in arguments and spats which give you all the attention you could possibly need. You don't need to pollute another.
