"Gerard’s cup final goal not included! Man Utd’s equaliser in the Payet Old Trafford game? Quarters of the cup, last season at Boleyn… could the cup have been ours? Frankfurts in Europa? Croatias in World Cup Semi? Or is there a random one that affected you more than it should?"

Spurs winner in the 4-3 from the great escape season. I know we stayed up anyway but that goal at the time killed me

Pat Nevin 15 April 1986 in the dying minutes. Probably Liverpool would still have won the league that year but who knows?

"Just as one a little different, Ian Taylor equalising in the 80th minute against Villa in the League cup quarter final 1999/20.* Leicester in the semis then Tranmere in the final. You can't count on anything with West Ham, but we'd have been favourites to win the league cup from there. UEFA cup the next season and suddenly the need to sell Rio goes down. Redknapp doesn't get the sack (having not had the Rio money to waste) and we don't get Roeder as manager. The 'golden generation', buoyed by trophies and European football stick around, mature together and we become a dominative force in English football. Well, one can dream anyway! * Although in reality if I could just get rid of the Omiyimni substitution in the first match that'd do."

One 1 goal that wins the title for West Ham in 88. Or the Gerrard Goal in the Cup Final....

"Think the ""not included"" option wins hands down. Man United FA Cup is a good shout. I think I'll go for Arsenal's goal in the FA Cup replay which we lost on penalties. It took me ages to get over that. Either that our own equaliser against Villa in League Cup, meaning we wouldn't have had to go through the total embarrassment and heartache of Mannygate. We would have won the cup that year I tell ya."

Apart from the obvious like Bungo I'm going to be greedy and say two. Both of Chelsea's goals at Upton Park in 85/86. The game that derailed the title challenge?

I'm greedy so I'm going to have two. Berbatov and then Stalteri for Tottenham in 2007. That was going to be a perfect day up until that last 5 mins or so.

"Gerrard’s goal has to be the most painful in our history. That Henry goal that someone mentioned at the start of the relegation season is a great shout. We were fantastic in that game and if it wasn’t for Kanoute’s shit penalty that would have made it 3-1 we would have won. Not winning at home for so long became an albatross around our necks and ultimately led to relegation. Who knows what would have happened if we had stayed up. Didier Drogba was going to join for a start. I know that someone else said that Kenny Dalglish goal at Chelsea but I’m not convinced we would have got anything at Everton regardless. They were a fantastic team with such a strong home record and people forget that we only won one away game against a top 10 side that season which was at Chelsea. We lost away to Liverpool, Everton, Man Utd, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest & Tottenham."

"Another one from that season was Jay Jay Okosha which effectively took survival out of our hands. Shipperly at The Play Off final was heartbreaking, but there was no guarantee we would have gone on to win. Nothing and I mean nothing even comes close to Steven ‘Fucking’ Gerrard"

Thierry Henry's goal in the 2-2 in 2002. Without that goal out of the blue they aren't galvanized and we win the game. We then don't go on that horrendous run and we stay up. There is no fire sale of the crown jewels.

"Any of the goals that got us through to the 2006 FA Cup final - at least then, Gerrard could have broken somebody else's heart and we could all laugh about it today."
