"Actor Matthew Perry dead at 54, found unresponsive in a hot tub at his home. I use to love Friends back in the day. RIP Chandler Bing."

"Given the amount of gushing and allocated space this story has currently on the BBC News website, you could be forgiven for believing that it had a greater importance (to it's customers/readers/viewers/the world) than the atrocities committed over the last 3 weeks in the middle east. I can's say I dislike Friends because I never watched it; the whole fake premise bored me beyond belief without having to waste my time proving to myself I was right by actually watching it. It came across as ""Crossroads"" for the ""It"" generation, aimed at viewers with a matching IQ and shoe size."

"""''Ah I see it’s cool and trendy to say you didn’t like friends.'''' It's nothing of the sort. People say they don't like FRIENDS, because it is abject rubbish. Play through an episode and listen to every bit of fake laughter, then listen to what precedes it. I will tell you for nothing that nothing remotely funny ever precedes the canned laughter. The reason for this it is no more a comedy that Bread was."

"Can understand its popularity but never a fan of Friends Too bland even for American comedy when there was genius like Seinfeld on offer Read where Perry said he could look back at various seasons and tell whether he was abusing alcohol, pills or other drugs at the time. I know there was a big thing about him cleaning up but by the nature of the death it sounds like he was back on it ... whatever IT was. 54 is too young but an inevitability about it if you are still abusing at that age"

"Similar to others, I held out from fully watching it for many years and scoffed at it, then when I flat shared back in the day with someone who was obsessed by it, it was on constantly so I started seeing a lot of it, and I realised that it was even worse than I had previously thought. A load of old unfunny cսnt. Comedy for the masses, on par with Mrs Brown's Boys."

"The Frasier reboot is so bad that I've binned it off after 3 and a bit episodes. Frasier Crane is still good, and is the only one from the original cast in it, the rest are awful, including Rodders. They should have left it alone."

"Similar to Leonard Hatred in that for many years I held out from watching it and scoffed at the popularity of it but then got into it towards the end of its run and realised how good, funny and well written it was. To give them their due, the Americans are the best at doing sitcoms. The likes of Seinfeld & Frasier were 2 others that were massive in the 90s. I haven’t seen the Frasier reboot yet though. It feels like a weird combination of 2 completely different universes coming together with Rodney Trotter being in it."

"Friends was and still is brilliant, the writing is outstanding, the casting was spot on and Matthew Perry was exceptional as Chandler. He obviously had his demons but this is really shitty news."

So what am I Takashi? A woman or a bandit? I just need to work out whether you are a misogynist or a homophobe? Probably both to be fair.

I avoided Friends when it first came out cos it looked like girly/gay nonsense. It was only years later when I actually watched an episode I realised it was very funny and well written. Then Channel 4 sort of ruined it by putting it on air all day every day for about 15 years.
