"Didn't know that the Kookaburra ball, is being used in the first four rounds of County Championship games. Makes Cook's efforts, all the more impressive."

"maybe 5mph slower than international level - at least away from home.... but he'd do well as Jimmy replacement in England. That said, he's been playing short-form leagues around the world, so his skills have improved in alien conditions. Chatting to him last summer, he's a fantastic young man, he thinks unlikely to get a chance."

"Stew, Feck me - just seen those career figures for Cook so far. That is superb. Averaging less than 20 per wicket after 74 first-class games. I knew this guy was good - but that's got to turn the head of any selector at some point, surely? I have no idea if he'd thrive at test level (some say he isn't quick enough, but they said that about Broad when he broke through: and he's the second highest seamer for wickets). But surely that's worth a few games to see how he goes?"

Worth a central contract? Could be if the selectors had the balls to move Anderson on or call the bluff of the piss-taker Archer

Stuart Broad obviously retired at the right time Notts capitulating & the last 9 years without an Ashes series win Guess we will have to endure his pointy head on Sky this summer instead

Joshua Marmaduke Biscuit-Barrel De Caires Taken his Mum's name so he isnt suspected of having dirt in his pocket presumably Essex recover to lead by 289 with a day to play Only that game & Worcs v Warks have any realistic chance of a result though not sure how much play either will get Surrey game at Lancashire lost a load of play as the Northerners decided that although it was dry it was too windy to take the covers off

Sam Cook drags Essex back into the match with a hat-trick that enables them to limit Notts lead to 40 runs. Chapeau Little Chef - now let's hope that Elgar and Kushi can negotiate a tricky final session.

I know Elgar is almost 37 but sounds like he was pushed out the door. S Africa are hardly playing any Tests & he wasnt given much encouragement to keep playing. He is definitely still in their best Test XI

Looking forward to see what all the fuss is about with Dan Lawrence now that he's levelled up in life.
