FA Cup final

"Feels a bit traditional this, last game of the season with a 3pm KO. Just needs the sun to be out. Old firm final on at the same time. Looks like it's Ten Haag's last match in charge. I fancy a good, open game with Man City edging it to claim another double."

"It would be good to see teams in it who are buzzing to be there … like us in 2006 …. rather than the same old of Man C , Man U, Chelsea & Arsenal Given 10 Hag is getting sacked anyway I hope Man U get an almighty hiding .. 6-0 maybe. Reckon they have their eye on Pochettino now he is available, understand it was him or baldy for the last appointment"

I was at the Cov v Spurs final. Only time I ever got to see Bobby Moore play a game of football with my own eyes... before the match there was a celebrity 7 aside between the 2 teams and he turned out for Cov. Not sure why tbh. But nice to think I did actually get to see him play.

"The battle of the slap heads. Pep and team to easily beat Ming the clueless and team. That bloke has been utterly useless and so clearly out of his depth. I wonder if they hired him out of desperation because he looks a bit like Pep. He hasn’t shown any other qualities like a top manager at all since he’s been there aside from the rare win over another big club. Even Gary Neville has stopped kissing his arse every five minutes long ago. They are the worst I can remember them being in my lifetime despite spending obscene amounts of money. Really cushy run to the final for them aside from scraping past a poor Liverpool in the quarter finals, just like an incredibly kind draw all the way through last years league cup with Newcastle’s goalkeeper crisis happening for them in the final. After saying all that it’s now inevitable they’ll win this afternoon but I can’t see anything other than a stroll for Man City."

"Reckon the red side of Manchester will get a hiding tbh Doubt ETH will be taken that seriously by the players so geeing them to be up for this will be hard. Pretty poor form by the United hierarchy to let it be known that win or lose he’s lost his job. All I want to see is a decent game though, end of the day couldn’t give a flying fuck which side wins!"

"In the last 30 years, since the formation of the Premier League, only 4 teams outside of what has become the traditional top 5 in the PL have won the FA Cup. That's why it's lost it's magic, imo. I say top 5, as it truly is staggering that people say 'The top 6'. How the fuck have Spurs managed to worm into the conversation? They've won 1 League Cup in all that time. Cunts. Anyway, back to this game, I hope they both lose."

"Cup final 'it's a knockout' Meet the players The team hotels. All part of the build up to the best day of the season. I always got up a bit earlier on cup final day so I could get stuff done for my mum before the coverage started around 10am. And straight out of a comedy sketch, I remember frantically knocking on people's doors for a 50p piece for the tele and it had a slot meter on the back. The 2nd half of Newcastle v Liverpool had just started (74) and the TV needed feeding."

"Man City for me on the basis that, in the height of their success and subsequent arrogance in the 90’s 2000’s, Man Utd played a pivotal role in the devaluing of the FA Cup by withdrawing to play in the club world cup in 2000."

"I get the 'not City again' sentiments. And I would be wanting them to lose against most other clubs outside the top 6 for that same reason, but definitely not Man U. It's still too recent for me that they were the team winning everything all the time. So City for me. I was quite young when we played Arsenal in the 80s final. But I remember all our windows in claret and blue and many of our neighbours. Although the two boys who lived next door were split with one room Arsenal and one West Ham. Always one wanting to be different! But I miss that level involvement."

"Mex - Obviously it's not what it was, like a lot of things, but I don't think it's as dead as you say it is, seems to have made a bit of a comeback in recent years with managers taking it more seriously and fans gutted when they go out, like we were when we lost to Bristol 'fucking' City. At least it's not City vs Cov, now that would have been a waste of time, albeit a great day for Cov."

"Really has lost a lot of interest. Not sure if I watch, sad as it used to be a must see fixture for me. I remember when it was the only full match of club football televised in the entire season. For me it's not just the loss of prestige, cannot be bothered to see these two Manchester clubs. City are great, but represent how money has spoiled football and sadly I just hate the entitled United wankers. Hope they both lose somehow."

"goose - Twas a great day, you would wonder round to the shops in the morning and there was a buzz around, ''cup final today'' you would hear people remark. And of course always a sunny day. Agree, I'd rather Man Utd win, fucking sick to death of City."

Such a shame it’s lost its prestige. Cup final day is a massive part of my memories growing up. Coventry v spurs Wimbledon v Liverpool Palace v man united Around the late 90s it started to lose its magic. As for today I’d like to see Manchester United win and then wrestle with the decision of sacking ETH.
