"OS West Ham United complete signing of central defender Maximilian Kilman from Wolves West Ham United is delighted to announce the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers central defender Maximilian Kilman. The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a seven-year contract at London Stadium after spending six hugely successful years at Molineux, where he played under new Hammers Head Coach Julen Lopetegui and was named captain last year. Possessing plenty of Premier League experience, Kilman has forged a strong reputation as a hugely talented and reliable defender with more than 150 appearances at Wolves, where he played his part in their run to the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals in 2019/20. Having started his career at non-league Maidenhead United, where he was managed by Hammers legend Alan Devonshire, Kilman has thrived ever since moving up to the top flight with his August 2018 move to the Midlands, and is now thrilled to be taking the next step of his career in east London"

Yeah he’s settling in now. A shame the FA wouldn’t let him play for Ukraine as he’s represented England a lower levels. Hope he’ll make the senior squad.

"The way he skipped over them two challenges was superb when striding out from the back, trying to think of our past CB's who he reminds me off, being good on the ball and he seems to like a sliding tackle occasionally, then maybe Bilic? It's only two games, but he looks the real McCoy after a ropey pre-season. See how he handles Haaland next week."

"If I’m honesty, I’d never really seen him play that much - apart from against us. He looked good on YouTube - but don’t they all! I assumed, that playing over a 100 PL games and being made captain, meant he must have ‘ a bit about him’. Pre season, he looked sluggish, but I wasn’t going to judge him on that. But fucking hell - he was absolutely brilliant, yesterday. As crazy as this sounds, I’m almost concerned. He’s set the bar that high, I don’t know how he’ll maintain it. Anything less will seem disappointing! I think with the way we play, though, there will be a few mishaps, as there is a lot of playing out from the back (even when we’re being severely pressed all the time). It’s risky and will probably cost a few goals, but when it works, it’s brilliant to watch. Long may it continue (minus the fuck ups, of course). Now, he’ll probably be torn a new one against Man City - it’s the West Ham way. But, as long as he puts in MAXimum effort - there’s no need to KIL the MAN, if that turns out to be the case."

Had a bad start yesterday when he gave a poor pass just outside our box and Whats his name hit the woodwork. But from then on he grew into the game and was outstanding

"Like most, had doubts about what this fella was going to offer, especially at the dough we paid. However, if he keeps us the same form we've seen in the first 2 games, it will have been an absolute steal. I don't remember too many better games from a centre back for us, in terms of on the ball. Incredible performance."

I believe Killman was a foosball guy before coming to normal football. So his main thing should be being good on the ball before anything else. What I’m liking about all the signings we’ve made is that they are all ballers apart from maybe Fullkreg. It means that we can slowly morph into a possession based side. Ultimately the basis of the world’s best teams is that they can retain possession. Moyes tried to make possession a weakness rather than a strength. But I think that anti football thing only takes you so far.

"Early days as others have said by nice to see a natural ball playing left sided centre back in the side. Been having to ""make do"" on that left sided slot since Oggy got older and no-one looked comfortable there so a good signing so far."

Was sheer class today especially for the 2nd goal. Also did what he’s paid to and clean up at the back

"Both Juventus and Bayern have wanted to sell De Ligt after it not working out. The sort of player who gets big moves because his perceived talent rather than fulfilled potential. Behind Van Dijk, De Vrij, Ake, Van der Ven for the Dutch these days. It’s a bit like when Varane joined Man Utd based on reputation. How did that go? De Ligt also wouldn’t entertain a move here so it’s a pointless comparison. We’ve bought a proven Premier League centre half who was within our scope. Maybe a bit overpriced, but is what it is."

"Believe the Maidenhead sell on was as much as 20% at one point but was renegotiated by the 3 clubs to make the transfer work Don’t think Devo was at Maidenhead in 2018 as would have been nice to have been alerted when he was more like £40,000"

"de Ligt never lived up to his price tag of 2 years ago and is a reserve player for Bayern Munich these days, and they're desperate to sell so they can buy someone better (Jonathan Tah). The going rate is whatever the selling club is willing to part with him for, not some made up figure on Transfermarkt."

May as well be 30 million for the chances we have of getting him. The PL knows we are on a rebuild as will Europe so getting value will be a struggle.

"""7 year contract for a 27yo that cost his club 40K, whilst we spend 15M more than we initially rated him"" LOL. You do realise that clubs don't initially bid the amount that they think a player is worth, but how much they hope that they can get him for. And this club has a history of lowballing most of our initial offers."

"Its a good signing but i cant help but feel we have had our pants pulled down a tad, 40M seems pretty steep, but what the fuck do i know! Nice to see some of the money (about 6M) filter down to the grass roots of the game in England, Will mean that Maidenhead can use the money to benefit all their various teams like the youths, juniors and lady's team as well as improve facilities and gives the club financial stability for good few years."
