Man Utd next weekend?

I wouldn't say it's a must win, but Lop needs something positive to happen after yesterdays undressing. Man Utd won yesterday so will come down in good spirits and will no doubt fancy their chances. I can see them opening us up at will and the Dane up top causing us problems. The faithful may turn too?
Fuck predicting the line up, I'll leave that pointless exercise to you lot, but I smell another reverse and more pressure on the Spaniard.
Thoughts?

We were told last season be careful for what you wish for!
There is no way we would be where we are if Moyes was in charge.
Time to reap what we sow!
Oh do fuck off we got thrashed so many times last season
That's no way to converse with BG bigfoot

As with the loss to Spurs im apathetic to West Ham and what's going on at the club, just cant be arsed at the moment.
Was all for giving Lope the benefit of the doubt but seems we have been here before with the Spurs game, but we bounced back from a similar humiliation against Liverpool and Chelsea and you could be forgiven for thinking it was all part of the new system/manager and players and in time we should be ok.
Problem is we are NOT improving its almost 1 step forward and then 2 back, and the biggest worry is the players just seem lost, watch the goals against Spurs and then see all our lot looking around or at each other as if to say what the fuck or where were you?
Not sure we can hope for much against ManU, if anything every time we play a decent team we get well and truly exposed especially in midfield where it matters most, saying that for periods against Spurs up until they put the game out of sight at times we did well, but we just can't sustain or put our stamp on a game and control it, especially anyone half decent.
Fuck knows what happens now, the season is still young but already i have that feeling of we wont get much out of it, forget Europe, out of 1 cup, not optimistic we will do any better in the other, relegation maybe a long shot such is the dross down the bottom we would have to be supremely shit to go down so dont think that will happen but underachieve by a good margin is looking likely.
Must win against ManU? Not sure it will be, he will get a pass if we lose as its a "big club" even if they have been a bit shit this season, but the games after are maybe those that will see the board move should we lose them as well, be more than 10 games in as well, so not like he hasn't had a chance, especially given the backing in the transfer market even if some of them are looking like money down the drain..........

Playing back to back against two of the biggest wankers in football , and being humiliated by both , on top of the CFC shambles, would deserve the tin tac for the Primark cսnt .
he's stinking the gaff out , we've seen this play out (too ) many times over the yrs.
It's not happening under this geezer..simple as that.
All the wrong signs are there.

Lop was Sullivans choice of manager therefore he’ll still be in charge when performances say he shouldn’t be. Sullivan and Brady cannot ever admit to making a mistake and have proven it time and again.
id always thought that 10 games to see a marked improvement would be fair, but the improvement has only been that we’re playing a bit further up the pitch.
"It’s an anomaly how Sullivan can be as wealthy as he is with such a talent for shooting himself in the foot.".

Nah, we are on a downward spin with Lopetegui I hate to say it but COYI was right the summer transfer window was a disaster and a relegation fight I'd here. Ten Hag must be delighted to see 2 wins in a row looming. We are sloooow, disorganised and so so easy to play against. Very disappointing, glad we have Wolves, Southampton and Ipswich in the league. Look at the teams above us ffs, Leicester, Forest, Bournemouth etc

We're trying to break free from the shackles of the Moyes set up but without the personnel to do so. We haven't addressed the lack of pace in our midfield and were ruthlessly exposed on Saturday. The Striker conundrum has been an issue for how many seasons now? We seem so tied to the lone striker system that we seemingly cannot change it or find anyone to replace the ageing Antonio in that role.
I would expect to see a reaction performance against Man Utd next weekend, but really I don't know if we'll get one, given how we've started. Certainly if Lop doubles down on what appeared NOT to work then the the unrest will just grow. Kudus has been one of our bright spots and we'll now be missing him for god alone knows how many games once the FA have had their say.

Agree Vexed. Moment the selection of Soucek, Paqueta or both. We will know he aint learning anything. Spurs addressed their issue if lack of pace in the middle by recruiting 3 strong, fast, athletic players as its key to getting and keeping possession. They have a squad for it with Bissouma, Sarr and Bentancur.
you cannot play anything other than low block effectively with our “wet paper bag” midfield of slow or weak players.
Alvarez and Rodruigez didnt work against Chelsea although playing Alvarez as a CB contributed. Soler not known for his “engine” strength or physicality.
We still dont have the players to play possession game, press effectively, pass thru midfield. We have to sit deeper.
Kudus will be sold and have to hope there is someone at West Ham who can see the blindingly obvious. It will take up to a 100 mill investment in that central midfield to get 2 quality players needed. ( we need 2 with profileslike Cauceido, Bissouma, Gravenberch, Sarr, Tonali, even Onana and 31 year old Lemina). I and many others have been boring on for 3 years that Soucek cannot be a starter and now we add Paqueta to that list. A walking liability. The central midfield is key. I hear Loftus Cheek is available in Jan? Injury prone but maybe only option. Basically we are still
testricted by our squad to mostly playing deep, low block against the top 10 teams.
surely someone over at West Ham sees it? Steidten? If not, he is mot the new messiah we thought

I predict he'll get the lineup completely wrong like he does every week and we'll get done tactically trying to play high up the pitch with the slowest most turgid midfield three in the league and we'll lose.
What he needs to do is make some fucking changes, first of which being dropping our thick fucking cսnt fairy Brazilian, drop the greedy fucking pig a fiver and he'll probably be fine with it. Alvarez back in the side with Soler and Summerville because Kudus is unavailable to be played out of position as per fuckin usual. Fabianski for Areola too. Guess we're stuck with grinning simpleton Antonio up top as grandpa German is likely fucked again, the fuckin waste of spunk.
But I reckon he's stupid enough to start the same team again, proper Moyes vibes except Lop speaks better English.
Fully expecting a loss and a hopeless performance.

We will lose almost certainly based on what we’vexseen in terms of our performances.
Of course you can sometimes get a result you’re performance does not deserve but I think this is highly unlikely.
We need Alvarez to come good and perhaps Soler too. Lopetegui is repeating the mistake of Zola, Bilic, Pellegrini and even Moyes last season. Trying to retain possession without having the players to do it, especially in the middle to press quick enough and be strong physically enough when in possession. We try to transition too slowly and lack movement. Spurs subbed on whatever his name was for Maddison to increase the pressing and physicality on our slow, weak midfield of Soucek, Paqueta and Rodriguez although the latter did compete physically. None of the managers trying to increase our possession seem to realise you need pace and physicality to succeed in the fastest, mist physically intense league inthe world. I hear and tead that our fans see it but successive managers have not. Only Rice has provided the legs needed but even he alone was not arguably quick enough at times. Before that you have to go back to Behrami.
we had 2 players who matched them for physicality, speed and intensity yesterday namely Wan Bissaka and Kudus. Killman and Todibo and even Emerson were ok but also struggled with being overrun as they flooded unchallenged and not tracked thru the middle.
its why in recent times the big fees are bow for defensive midfielders like Caicedo 110 million, Fernandez both at Chelsea who starting to see tesults, Gravenberch at Liverpool was 50 million but they also paid a packet for Mcclaister who not as physical still presses relentlessly as well as being a great technician. Dont see him getting dispossessed like Paqueta. Spurs paid a lot for Bissuma and others like the geezer who came on to create strength and depth in this area. Villa bought Onana for the same reason, “legs” and strength in the middle. Even Lemina at struggling Wolves would be better than we have. Newcastle paid a lot for Tonali, Boinemouth have Christie, Villa have Mcginn all snapping away and pressing constantly. United struggles are partially down to the lack of central midfield legs as Casimera aged but they have Mainoo etc now. All the best possession sides have all action midfields that press and battle physically well.
We have the slowest midfielder in the league Soucek who gives 100% but cannot live with the pace at times. A fancy dan Paqueta thinking he is playing a beach game in Rio and one paced Rodruiguez who did at least compete physically. The same midfield issue means we cannot deal with being pressed and cannot transition quickly enough to beat a press.
we need to spend big in this atea regardless of manager.

this is on Sullivan and Brady..
and Steidten
Don't know why he's getting a free pass. Recruitment has been dreadful and if, as has been claimed elsewhere on this thread, Hurzeler would've been his choice, then he should've insisted or resigned... for him to run with Lopetegui and then double down by adding players that Lopetegui wanted is fucking shameless

They're going to dry hump us.
It will serve to prolong Eric ten Hag's awful tenure at Man Utd - so, every cloud and that - and Sullivan will ignore the result because it is Man Utd and he still thinks they're a top side. Because he still thinks it's 1968.

Assuming we carry on with this form of not being able to compete with top7, even if we win all our homes games and draw away against the rest only equates to 48points and that will be a struggle. Season is finished.

And someone on here said we’ll be ok because we’ll beat the teams around us and below us. Could have kept Moyes to do that, or employed someone with a far less impressive cv than Loppy to do that too.

It’s a good time to play us. Even if you not that great a team, which the Mancs ain’t at the moment. These are the games to win and try and get the fans back on side though, especially after that second half surrender yesterday.

It doesn't look good atm does it?
The first couple of matches we saw a big change in how to play. Sadly it cost us dearly as we were wide open in the midfield.
Yesterday was back to a usual 451, and apart from a decent looking back line, the midfield and forward isn't good enough.
The turmoil around Paqueta is reason enough to bench him. The lack of movement of Antonio is reason enough to bench him too. And Soucek is just Soucek, just a slug sliding around. And finally Areola, his distribution cost us yesterday, and gas to find his form elsewhere than on the pitch.
With Kudus gone for a while, the is no other option than cementing a new setup.
.................Fabianski
Bissaka Todibo(c) Kilman Emerson
..............Alvarez Soler
Bowen........Irving......... Summerville
...................Ings
And yes, it won't happen, and we still need a striker...
