I think you’re an absolute idiot for your opinion on Kilman. He made one mistake today. But is the very least of the issues. Some games he’s been our best player, or among them, but you’re quiet on him then. You decided he was shit when we signed him. He’s not shit. Therefore, you’re a fucking idiot with posts like that.

I had the opinion that he isn't worth buying, not even at 25m. Our defence isn't better for him. He hasn't done anything to prove me wrong. The same as when I pointed out Lopetegui would be the wrong man, of which you now concede he obviously isn't too.

6 1/2 more years of this bloke being our centre back, as no club will ever be interested in taking him.

Kilman isn’t an issue. You made your comment when he signed and you’ll forever double down on it if he makes a mistake. You’ll never praise him for good performances, so your view becomes redundant. He was excellent against Newcastle for example. Where was your commentary on him then? Or Palace?

Kilman is an issue. He's been an ever present in a side that is letting in almost 2 goals a game. In a side that is performing so badly you agree the manager needs to go. We let 3 of last season's 4 CB's go this summer for that very issue.

Kilman was poor defensively against Palace and we were lucky not to have been two nil down before Wan Bissaka came on. His contribution for our second goal in bringing the ball out was a fantastic moment but the weakness in our defending is a major problem, and why we are struggling.

If somehow he comes good over the next 6 1/12 years, i'll happily admit so though.

So conversely, when we win 2-0 under Moyes with 22% possession with 2 counter attacks against a team that passes us off the park that’s “decent football”.
oh please 🙄.  You’re the reason we are in this mess. Fans who think scraping wins with crappy football is actually a good thing. As I said earlier, I can tell who actually watches the games and who just looks at the results.
Are you mental? You think shipping 5 at home is in anyway acceptable?

When & where did I mention Moyes or preferring 22% possession?
You’re either suffering some kind of episode or you should stay away from football as it’s just not for you.

So if you ship 5 goals but scored 2 it always means you played no quality football at all within the 90 minutes? Right …

and who said it was “acceptable”. I just said I saw some good play from us at times.
You said you saw nothing good. Im just questioning what made you say that.

way too binary..

this is what you said:
“I actually enjoyed the game because normally when we ship 5 goals we look like abject shit. We didn’t this time.”

we absolutely looked like abject shit. We were 4 nil down before we touched the ball in their box. We lost the game in 35min of abject shit. Playing one “world class pass” is completely pointless at 4-0 down.

I’m not sure if you’re familiar with football 360, it seems to be a foreign language to you.

One decent pass at 0-4 down is nothing to be celebrating. So this great football we played at times was one pass and a decent finish. The free kick isn’t decent football, it wasn’t even a free kick.

Arteta was seething because his side gave away two soft goals after absolutely dominating the game.

I think Neville described us as ‘pathetic’ and he was right.

Lopetegui spent 150m in the summer, bringing in 3 new defenders, and we have conceded half the amount of goals we let in at home last season in just 7 games.

Need to get down to spec savers pronto!
The pass from Soler to AWB for the goal was world class
after going 4 nil down in the first half and to still do that?

and Emerson’s free kick as well. We brought in the best free kick taker in the PL last season and he didn’t get 1 goal from a free kick. Emerson made it look easy against one the best defensive sides in world football.

but no, we were completely shit and arsenal just let us score. So much so that arteta was seething on the touchline!

but do go on…

This was a free hit. After Monday. Everyone excepted this to be the final nail in Lopetegui coffin. Before Newcastle. Nothing was learnt, that none of us didn’t know before this. But one thing is pretty clear. Mikel Arteta is one Charmless Scrote.!

The scuffle in the Bobby Moore lower at four down took my mind off things for a while. We actually showed a bit of fight on the pitch as well after that but the second pen killed any slim hope of a comeback as did taking summerville off. You cannot play against the top sides with Soucek at the base of midfield - he is too slow in mind and body

I’ve been out for the day, so only saw three minutes of highlights. Not a great result, but still something positive. We didn’t get much help from the ref. First goal was a clear push on Paqueta. First penalty was a dive. Ings could have gone down at the end, but there was still clear contact on him. From four goals down, we didn’t let our heads drop and gave it a real go. No one expected anything from this game, but at least we didn’t lie down.

The last 2 games we got 3 points and 4 goals,it doesn't excuse today but most of us would have taken it.

Dont think Fab actually made many saves today , we had one disallowed and was offside but so close , then Ings should be scoring , that was not as bad as it looks . We got beat by the better team back at full strength if the pens not given on the pitch don't think VAR overturns .

Must confess I can't really see an identity with this side,.  Yes it's an ageing team with a severe lack of pace but we know all that, I just see a bunch of individuals really not quite knowing what the plan is from the manager.  Even with Moyes you knew what he wanted to do, he had his format, as dull as it was at times, but with JL I just don't really know what he is trying to achieve,  Against Newcastle we ran our socks off but for the first 35 minutes today we just couldn't get near them, yes they are a top side (minus the falling over and moaning) but we were too slow and just didn't seem to have any belief until we came back into it.  Would have been interesting if they hadn't got the second penalty on half time.

I'd love to see how Soler would do alongside a Rice type.  That pass was absolute quality and I was half hoping JL would yank Paqueta off at half time and maybe just give Irving a go.  Just don't see the point of getting him in if he isn't going to play him.

On the day, they were streets ahead because we look and have an ageing team for this league. Even Emerson is 30.  Soucek, Fab, Emerson, Antonio, and 33 year old Ings a sub.  Some of these players are not up to it physically and in the case of Soucek, Antonio they lack the technique too.  Arsenal gave us no time on the ball and we just could not keep it. When they had it we had no legs to effectively press them.   We were statues in comparison at times with for example Emerson and others failing to track Saka on their best goal, Antonio not able to keep with Gabriel on their first and although harsh 2 pens from being a fraction late with tackles / punch that a ref like Taylor will always give.

Still 4 better players short of a team that can give the best, quick teams a game and 7 or 8 better players to create a squad capable of competing at the top end of the league.  The coach Loppy is trying to get us to play more progressively with it but Arsenal and the better teams show we dont really have the players for it.

Best player for us was Wan Bassaka by a mile.  Soler was ok, as was Todibo ( 5s out of 10 ) but the rest were struggling to compete with Arsenal.

The games coming up are about trying to see if we can compete more at our level which is currently mid table at best.

New coach?  I would go for Allegri simply because he will abandon trying to get ahead of ourselves and fit a system to the players he has or at least he has proved he can implement different tactical systems ( according to Wiki ) :-)

360 How else would you describe being 4-0 down after 35min? It was embarrassing.

We scored one decent goal and a worldy free kick.
What good football did you see?

Pointless talking about the second half because Arsenal barely bothered to play.

People talk about it like Arsenal just let us score 2 goals against them in the 1st half. They felt the threat up until they subbed off their best players later in the second half.

why is it when we do well people say the other team played beneath themselves. They said that about Newcastle as well.
the fact is this league is competitive. Southampton got a draw at Brighton. It happens.

We played very good football at times. Why not just admit  that instead of pretending we were just shit all game?

The decisions made it look a lot worse than it actually was, but overall no, we are not better than them. They just spanked Amorims old team 4-0 ffs.
