Saturday football

BOURNEMOUTH vs NOTTINGHAM FOREST (1500)
On paper a dull fixture, but more likely to be a compelling one between two sides that have totally surpassed expectations so far this season. Between them, they’ve put together eight wins and four draws in their last six outings. Hard to predict the outcome with each possible outcome a realistic possibility. Draw.

BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION vs EVERTON (1500)
Two consecutive wins for the hosts after a series of painful draws. What would the Toffees give for that? Home win.

LIVERPOOL vs IPSWICH (1500)
Was there ever a more certain certainty? Home win.

SOUTHAMPTON vs NEWCASTLE UNITED (1500)
Speaking of certainties, here’s another one. Probably. Away win.

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS vs ARSENAL (1500)
The Arse are snapping at Pool’s posterior while well aware of Forest snapping – albeit more vigorously – at theirs. Away win.

MANCHESTER CITY vs CHELSEA (1730)
Chelsea come into this on the back of some poor form. City, well they don’t fill their fans with optimism. Could and should be a cracker. Draw.

SUNDAY

CRYSTAL PALACE vs BRENTFORD (1400)
You can fit a Rizla between these two, but not much else. Still, the Bees stand out, just. Away win.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs LEICESTER CITY (1400)
A relegation six-pointer? Hmm, maybe. Either way, fun to contemplate. In their last six league games, the two sides have accumulated a combined total of one point. That’s 35 points dropped from their possible last combined of 36. Let that sink in. Home win.

ASTON VILLA vs WEST HAM UNITED (1630)
Not a-bloody-gain? Yep, fraid so. See if we can get something from this today. Confident? Hardly. Draw.
Image

FULHAM vs MANCHESTER UNITED (1900)
Another fixture to make you smile. Unless you are of the red persuasion, in which case you’re likely to be even redder at the end of this. Home win.

BOU vs NFO
BHA vs EVE
LIV vs IPS
SOU vs NEW
WOL vs ARS
MCY vs CHE

CRY vs BRE
TOT vs LEI
AST vs WHU
FUL vs MNU

That penalty has to be up there alongside Lookmans failure against us.

Oh and as I say it he might get a retake, lucky man.

Another thing. It's not as if his shithousery have brought him Wengeresque levels of success, he's won one FA  cup since he took the job. Ferguson was a bit handy when it came to some of the dark arts but at least he could say that there wasn't a trophy cabinet big enough to cater for his haul.
I'm convinced Arteta will leave Arsenal having never won the league or champions league. They may luck/cheat their way to a cup but that'll be the extent of their 'sucsess' under him.

Would love Merson (I know he’s a Chelsea fan) to turn on him and then have a fellow pundit shout “HE WON YOU A TROPHY” in his face.

I’d rather have Moyes than Arteta, that’s how much I detest him. Hope he doesn’t win another thing in his career.

I wish them zero success in any tournaments and for their window to slam shut on them.

I fucking hate Liverpool and Chelsea but would rather either of those current sides won anything compared to Arsenal. They are at least fun to watch
I fucking HATE Arteta with a passion.

I get great satisfaction watching them bottle it every year. I think he's fucking great. 😁

The money he's spent on their Squad too is huge. Doesn't get spoken about enough with little silverware to show for it. Almost £700M on top of some quality he already when he arrived at the Club.

Struggling to think of a manager that is a bigger cսnt. Absolutely zero redeeming features.

Arteta now has a reputation among opposing fans and it isn't complimentary, at best he is regarded as a snivelling piece of shit and at worse an out and out cheating cսnt. I would go so far as to say that if in the nearly impossible scenario of him being our manager ever materialised, I would turn my back on our club for good.

100% with you. He’s the managerial equivalent of the Portuguese national side with the snidey gamesmanship and shithousery. That’s before getting to the constant excuses and lashing out at other entities every time they don’t win and lambasting officials for every decision that goes against them.
For sure he never learned his utter shithousery from Pep.
Or Wenger. It’s odd isn’t it that he had two very honourable managers/mentors for much of his career yet is choosing to be completely the opposite. Nature wins vs nurture I guess.

To add, of course he played under Moyes for 6 years as well. Say what you like about his philosophy but I’d at least consider him an honest bloke who approaches the game honourably if not negatively and pragmatically. Again worlds away from Arteta’s attitude. Perhaps some elements of pragmatism and grinding out results with the importance of set pieces has rubbed off. Certainly he seems to have developed the same aversion to buying strikers 🤣

Both Skelly & Nwaneri started in the 2023 FA Youth Cup final where we smashed them 5-1 away

Yeah - agree with that. Cynical fouls like that aren’t a great spectacle for a viewer. He’s an absolute shit, I reckon I’d have given him a red as well. You can see him looking nowhere near the ball, he had only one intention. Was a nasty challenge too, not just a trip - he had his studs on Doherty’s ankle.

 More Arteta snide tactics.

It was a terribly cynical deliberate foul rather than an attempt at a challenge
Can almost understand the ref thinking … what a little cսnt you are so I am sending you off
There are certain things that deserve more than a yellow. Maybe an orange card that sees you sent off the pitch for a period at the refs discretion & means you can’t be substituted for the rest of the match. If you go off ‘injured’ you can’t be replaced.

Seems an arrogant little prick
Perfect for Arsenal & Arteta

An Arsenal defeat would have had Michael Oliver’s Newcastle just 3 pts behind them
Yes - suspect it will be overturned. In his short career he’s a player that I already have a strong dislike for. Terrible unsporting attitude and with a major chip on his shoulder from what I’ve seen so far. Compare that with someone like Scarles. I know which I prefer.

Did Forest try and play big boys football with a bit of possession and passing? Went very wrong, reminds me of Moyes.
