My mate's Dad's dog | The 'ITK' rumours thread...

Post stubbo »

Since we don't have a site ITK seemingly anymore (Wendel, we miss you), this thread is for posting up purported 'ITK' gossip from elsewhere to discuss.

So if you see something from someone with reasonable likelihood of having a meaningful source, post it up in the thread to discuss.

Sources I'm aware of at least worthy of discussion when they report something.  If you know of others let me know and I'll add to the list.

ExWHU... we're heavily scouting Burnley for defensive reinforcements given their insane defensive performance this season (only conceded 11 goals).
This is so moronic. Apart from the massive step up in divisions, it's pretty obvious that conceding fewer goals is as much or more down to how the team sets up as it is to the quality of individual players. Scott Parker is known for playing extremely boring defensive football. That's why they don't concede much. If Kompany was still in charge there and they had the same players they'd have conceded a lot more (and scored a lot more too, probably).
Makes complete sense to look at trying to pick up a gem or two in the lower leagues for better value, and if you're looking for defensive options then it makes even more sense to scout the teams conceding the least amount of goals.

What would be moronic is to not even take a look at these players based on assumptions about how they play and what their defensive record might look like if they had a different manager.

Even going after Burnley's players is missing the boat. They'll already want top dollar for them and some of the prices for the best in the Championship are ridiculous now. We have to be in a position to be identifying these players at the same time the likes of Burnley or Brighton or Brentford do. Not some overpriced reject like Kiawor either. Kristensen sounds far more like the sort of target for us. Cheap with upside.

As for Pogba, fuck right off. Yes, let's let that cancer into the changing room....

Love the comment abut us being away with the fairies trying to offer 15 mill for De Winter when Milan and Wolves (WOLVES) are offering almost 10 million more. You're a fucking joke of a chancer Sullivan.

Latest from some sources:
ExWHU... we're heavily scouting Burnley for defensive reinforcements given their insane defensive performance this season (only conceded 11 goals).
Joyful...lots of the usual...take as you like:
Chelsea ( Blue co ) do an about turn, and inform WH that they can now negotiate for Emegha of Strasbourg, if they want, Chelsea bursting at the seams, with players, going to have to let some go

WH are looking into Thomas Kristensen Cb of Udinese, bit on the raw side, reasonable price obviously, they must see something in him

Behind the scenes, WH thought they were gaining traction, with the forward they really want Liam Delap, No question he would be first choice, But Newcastle. have stepped in with a £40.m offer, Chelsea, can top that, and Man City have a clause, full detail unknown, that allows them to have a preference bid of some kind, so WH look out of this, this is why at present

WH have had two very different, but very odd questions put to them, the first is Paul Pogba 32 nexrt week, now clear of charges, and a free agent as of today, wants to play again, he was a terrific player, is he fit, pay as you play, I don't know , the discussion, .then another player, who on his day, really Good, age ok, Liverpool bought him cheap £10 m , wants to play, and he's not, Chiesa, is the name, is he worth a value fior money punt? Two for WH to think about

Just come to light that WH, tried to get Sam Jewel in from Brighton before he joined Chelsea, to team up with Macauley, he's the guy that spotted many up and comers like Caceido, but Chelsea nailed the deal

Just to point out where we are at with offers, WH tried to pre agree a deal for De Winter of Genoa for 15 m euros, tonight Wolves have stepped in with 24 m euros topping Milan's bid of 23 m euros, we are away with the fairies, on our offers, and unless we change tack it's goodbye on this one

WH As mentioned couple of weeks back we're looking at Jacob Kiwior now he has just been offered. To WH, he's interesting, a good defender that can play different positions, , he's not playing, and prefers London, £30 m Arsenal say, but in reallty £18/20 m should get him there's a lot worse out there for that money

Some of the news your getting re new regulations is true some of it isn't, you have to pick your way, through the camouflage, and it's too early for that as yet, but Potter is under the cosh to curb ambition, in the transfer window, for next season, WH are trying to keep as many useful players as possible, to lessen purchases ( I didn't know we had that many useful players ) If Potter was under any illusions, he's not any more, he's been promised support, and the gaining of several players, , how that translates, we wait to see

One of the sources listed…

05 Mar 2025 13:39:40
I can confirm, contrary to other postings that WH, despite talks, have NO agreement in place for De Winter of Genoa, and talk of £12.5 m is pure imagination . Milan have asked for first refusal at £23m, another Italian club is also on this, as you know Cornet is in Genoa on a dry loan, WH want a p/ex on the two players, whilst this is not impossible, Genoa rate cornet at 8 m euro, so there's a big gap, Cornet, would want a payment as well , of around £2 m To bridge wage differences, on remainder of his contract, so yes it could be done, but not for the money, that some ITKs are putting aboutJoyfull

05 Mar 2025 13:55:07
Tammy Abraham, WH are on this, as the pursuit of David, looks pointless, they are trying to strike a deal with Roma, as Milan don't want him, and want him to return to Rome, whilst talks were underway Leeds and Everton have jumped in, the championship side looking likely for promotion, are prepared to better their squad . Roma said Abraham won't be that much, he's not presently performing, or getting much game time, around £18 m The Player would like a return to the UK, Potter Maybe knows a lot more?Joyfull

Potter a 'fraud'? Some people need their heads looking at.
Was this based on Saturday's game where we won and kept a clean sheet on the back of winning away at Arsenal and keeping a clean sheet?

I guess they're trying to follow the AFTV model, generate hateclicks and make some money
AFTV was built on the team losing and other fans enjoying the meltdown. It has been quite a successful model.

This guy said we were signing Duran, Gomes, David, the lad from France, the lad from Belgium and the loan player that went to Everton.

I think the only player he didn't mention was Ferguson.

He knows as much as I do which is fuck all.

Can’t see Antonio being offered a contract. We have the German currently on the books, apparently Cummings and if all reports are true we are looking far and wide for a bit of a marquee striker. Doesn’t leave much room for Antonio.

Coufal won’t be around. I reckon off to Everton.

If Cresswell keeps going as he is then I would give him a year.

Everyone seems to think that Potter will want a keeper in which would mean we would need to claw back somewhere. Areola is the only one out of the three that we could get anything for so can see Fab being back up next season.

Currently it's the standard rinse and repeat of Season Ticket renewals coming up, so suddenly we're trying REALLY HARD for Jonathan David.

But lurking in the background....we've got no money and might renew all these old Cunts who should be long gone.

Even if Antonio is 100% of what he was, that's still 1 goal and 1 assist in 14 appearances and he'll be 5 years the wrong side of 30. I don't think we should be considering it.

Looking at the specifics:

Antonio...not for me unless it's pay as you play
Cresswell...ok with this one. Recent performances justify it.
Fabianski...not for me.
Coufal. He's not playing. He's not getting off the bench. Nope.
