WHUFC Man Utd vs West Ham | PL | 11.5.25 | Predictions & Match Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

A game not dissimilar to last week's encounter with Spurs, against a team that has had a terrible season by their standards.

There are many parallels to us, with them hiring a new manager that prefers to play a back 3, and it not going well at all...but with most of the fan base hanging onto the fact they're 'not his players'.

Sadly though one of either our opponents last week or this week will end up playing in the Champions League next season. Whilst we'll end up with a squad decimated by the loss of our saleable stars, punts on a load of unknown foreigners, journeymen, and lower league hopes, and Cock Piss Potter clinging to Premier League survival.

Anyway, this game...with Man Utd having played Thursday, we should have the edge in terms of energy, but at the same time they have a reason to stay sharp, and we have a squad more than likely already on the beach, along with on going rumours of squad friction and divide.

Prediction:

Away at Old Trafford, Potter's side are in an undesirable patter of draw-loss-draw-loss....and last time out was a draw.

So...predict a limp defeat here. 0-2.

Lineup.

At this point it feels somewhat immaterial who pulls on the shirt, but likely a lot will depend on if Paqueta is in the right frame of mind to play with more of his Kangaroo Court Case looming.
Areola

Todibo Mavropanos Cresswell

Wan Bissaka  Soucek. Paqueta. Emerson

Bowen. Füllkrug. Kudus
Feels like only two positions are debatable...does the error strewn 40m Kilman keep his spot over equally error strewn Mavropanos, and is Paqueta good to go.  Other than that the team looks like picking itself.

One swallow and all that... and I'm not for one moment implying that Potter was a good appointment as his selections, subs and general game management are all open to enormous criticism, but our GD under him is -2 in 16 games versus -15 in 23 under the Spaniard and but for switching off repeatedly in the final few minutes, alongside ridiculous individual errors, the points lost at Goodison, Amex, Anfield and at home to S'oton would see us very comfortably mid-table. Just some context.

Yeah, I know... Man Utd are fucking shite and if my auntie had a cock

Im  hoping that we hit rock bottom v brighton, the air is cleared and the players are a bit more certain whether they have a future at the club.

Subs again were a bit flaky. I dont know why bowen went off as i only had radio commentary here, did he get a knock?

Starting 5 inexperienced Premier League youngsters thrown together showed for Man Utd. A couple yeah, shouldn't be too much of an issue but 5 is risky. They played like an inexperienced Team whereas our old timers schooled them.

Wry smile at the league table tonight.

Not because of where we are, but because of who's beneath us.

We won and can only beat what is front of you, but what was in front of us was shit.
Yet we still invited them to squeeze us in by taking off any ability to run in behind.

I missed the first hour because I decided to go out on a bike ride instead. Typically, I miss our two goals. I sat and watch us nervously hold on for the next twenty minutes, before deciding to go and have a shower.

Nice to win though. It would be great if we could take this into the final two games, while giving a couple of youngsters a few minutes on the pitch.

Like Spurs you can tell Man Utd have totally given up on the League form. They haven't won in 8 games now the last win against Leicester, including 5 losses. They are shocking.

Well done West ham it's always nice to win up there. On another day those subs could have backfired badly. So impressed with Awb lets hope a few of our future summer signings can have a similar impact. I thought the minimum Potter should do this season is match Loppys 23 points which he could do if we win the remaining games.

boy did we need that. It's all about days like this!

Good performance against a dogshit Man U side with half an eye on a Euro final but it will do wonders for our confidence

You can see how Potter is trying to get us to play, maybe this comes good with additions we need to the squad. Whatever, he will have the time to implement his vision.

Can only beat what's put in front of you and that Man Utd team is fucking woeful but well done all for a deserved win. Managed to do a rare double over the Manc twats which shows how far they've fallen. Footballs a funny old game though and the jammy wankers could still yet get Champions League football even if they finish just above the relegation zone! 😆

Special mention for the usual suspects Wan-Bissaka, Bowen and Soucek for playing their parts in the goals. Cresswell also had a vintage display at the back which was also lovely to see.

PS - Spurs break their record of 20 losses in a Premier League season LOLZZZ
