Sadly, the residents of Gaza are just puppets in this, but it's not Israel who's pulling the strings.
Maybe if Israel were to look at ways of cutting those strings and freeing the Gaza population from Hamas influence, people would be happier?
Open to suggestions on how to best achieve that, though.
