I was working in Poplar the other morning and wandered back to Canary wharf tube around lunchtime.
.
The fall off from pre covid and working from home is dramatic and noticeable in terms of numbers.

Hardly anybody in the shopping centre apart from those getting some lunch and i got an extra discount in the Ralph Lauren shop.

There was talk of a lot of the estate being repurposed for student accommodation but it looks like the home office may of got in their first.

What the place will look like in ten years time I dread to think.

It just doesn't look good at all, does it? On one hand you've got Coppers falling over themselves who can appease the situation first (almost as if under orders..) to bail him out, excuse and protect him, whilst at the very same time arrest an old disabled lady (8 fucking Coppers!) for merely peacefully protesting against it causing no one any bother from a distance from the Hotel. The optics stinks but then it is our new reality that we are all witnessing before our eyes. It's all sick.

So on the flipside if an outsider attempted to enter the Britannia hotel I'm sure they would be swiftly arrested for trespass or more ikely behaviour designed to cause harassment alarm or distress

The police would worry about the legalities and definitions later on so what's the difference in this case of the homeowner ?

The AY audits guy has also set himself up as an unofficial migrant hotel inspector and has I'm sure been apprehended whilst doing this recently.

He claimed they were being served four meals a day on one such visit.

priorities as always.

A lad I used to go to school with and then aged 16 made the mistake of slapping a female joggers backside as he rode through the park.

The next thing he knew he was being pushed of his bike and held face down on the ground before being handcuffed and thrown in the back of a police car.

It turns out the female joggers was an undercover police officer and part of an operation to find a guy who had been harassing women.

He was questioned at length and charged with touching over clothing or whatever the equivalent charge was back then.

Through this becoming common knowledge locally he lost his apprenticeship and his church going family disowned him.

Despite maintaining it was just a teenage prank he was sentenced by the unimpressed magistrates to 6 months suspended and had to attend some courses as well as l being on a sex offenders register.

He was a bright lad academically but immature and paid a heavy price for it as this unfortunate episode pretty much destroyed his life for a good few years.
