Nigels West Ham vs Palace | PL | 20.9.25 | Predictions and Match Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

Well, after the false dawn of Nottingham Forest, and coming crashing back down to earth against Palace, we sit 4 defeats from 5 for the season so far.

Potter is under increasing pressure (despite the usual 'we back the manager' horse shit from the Club) and it's clear that "contingency plans" are being established, with a series of uninspiring names being thrown into the public domain....Bilic, Dyche, Nuno, O'Wall...the real next level fraternity of the Football Manager commuity.

With protests planned before the game (see here for details if you want to join) it will undoubtedly be an interesting atmosphere at the toilet bowl.

This looks like a bad game to run into at this juncture, with the Nigels being proficient at corners, and having concended only once all season.  Only a win is really good enough, but a draw looks like it will buy him a trip to Everton to take on the Moyes millstone which continues to sit heavily round the necks of West Ham.

If Potter has a brain, he'll go not just for the win in this game, but for some vibes as well, with a selection that at the very least inspires interest. Unfortunately I suspect JWP is first name down, Hermansen continues his demonstration of why you don't stick a midget in goal, and Summerville misses out.

Wan Bissaka is out with a nasty case of the shits, Soucek starts the three game ban, but other than that we're expected to be at "full strength".  No doubt there'll be a temptation to look to match up the Palace formation with a return to 3 at the back, but it feels this would be a mistake.

Predicted Lineup:
Hermansen

Walker Peters;   Mavropanos;    Kilman;     Diouf

JWP;   Magassa;

Bowen;         Paqueta;         Fernandes

Wilson;
Subs:  Areola, Todibo, Igor, Scarles, Irving, Rodriguez, Summerville, Guilherme, Fullkrug

Predicted outcome: West Ham 0 - 2 Crystal Palace (Mateta 2)

I'm just glad it's so early in the season and that we've already seen 8 months of him. I cant think there's a single West Ham fan on earth who would be upset with getting rid of him. One of the few times we've had a unified fan base.. Potters good at one thing then!

What I don't get as well is JWP is kept out there but didn't even take the free kick when paq got fouled . Which I thought was his only job..

Well that was a shock...
The culmination of years of incompetence by the football genius Sullivan.
He'll dither as usual and give Potter 2 or 3 games more to save his job for the next 2 or 3 months whilst Nuno will be snapped up and Dyche will be appointed which will spell the end for me and many other fans, at least until Sullivan goes.

Nuno or ONeill this week I wager.

Btw lads, Magassa looks too slow for the Prem Lge. So midfield remains an issue better off getting Earthy and Potts in there.

We deserved to lose again make no mistake. Defensively fragile in CB area but unbelievably we still dont have the players to press in midfield or upfront.  Squad still a big issue and deficiecies not addressed across the last 5-7 windows. Potter is toast and if he remains takes us down.  A sensible owner gets Nuno in this week but I foresee Sullivan waiting ro the next break and defeats to newcastle, Everton and Arsenal.

only positives were KWP our best player again, Diouf, Paqueta for effort and Bowen coz he can score a goal. Summerville was ok and any threat on their goal went when he went off.

Sad depressing times. Sullivan is the real cancer and millstone for our club.

In the 2nd half we played some decent football for 20 minutes but then they scored, thanks to more abject defending, and we offered fuck all after that.
Cock piss is only taking us in one direction. He’s out of his depth, as are some of the players. If the porn dwarf sticks with Potter for much longer then we’ll be beyond saving.

It is genuinely terrible, and everybody at the club should be ashamed of themselves for how we have got here over the past few years.

Ultimately, Sullivan, and his 19th century approach to 21st century football, has to go. We were described recently as an analogue club in a digital world. That’s a good description.

Meanwhile, the only chance we have of saving this season from ending in the drop - which is inevitable as things stand - is to roll the dice on yet another manager.

Potter is, yet again, completely out of his depth. As he was at Chelsea.

But don’t hold your breath: there’s not a lot of managerial talent on the “cheap” market stalls Sullivan shops at.

Its fucking bleak right now. The bare minimum is that Potter needs to go. Now.

its not like we're a promoted side or have no money to spare - we've spent hundreds of millions to become this bad. That's the criminal shame of our situation.

All down to Sullivan. If his manager starts using the 'poorly paid players' instead of the 'highly paid players', Sullivan sees that as the highly paid player is becoming surplus to requirements and can be sold...

Just one of the numerous shitty games he plays with his managers - this club will NEVER be right until we can remove that little bazzer.

What sums Potter up is that he gives minutes to Guilherme who wouldn’t get a second if he weren’t Brazilian
but decent youth players like Earthy, Potts, Fearon and Kante don’t get a look in who are all decent

Potter is looking more and more like a fella who has shot his bolt and is digging in waiting for his pay-off.

He has quite clearly had enough, and so have the rest of us...

Sullivan, as ever, must take most of the blame - he interferes and undermines, he just can't fkg help himself.

cant believe that sub when we're chasing the game. What does JWP bring in this situation?

please either win and give us some hope that this might turn around or lose and force change.

a 2-2 draw will just give Sullivan an excuse to prolong this bollocks
