The Shadow Line was brilliant. Steven Rea does quiet menace really well and Rafe Spall makes a perfect scenery chewing psychopth. I've got into the habit of buying cheapo second hand Blu-Rays on EBay of stuff I'd like to watch and then flogging them back if it is not a keeper. You can pick most things up fo a couple of quiid.

Nagel 7:07 - Yes mate, Thanks for that, I have searched for it but maybe missed that, Looking forward to watching it again. Yes you're right Southland is superb, I started watching that again on one of the free channels but think the adverts pissed me off as can't skip them. Also Band of Brothers, seen it countless times but thanks to Manuel 6:00 post, I'll watch it again on Netflix.

DJ, you can watch 'The Shadow Line' on UKTV Play https://uktvplay.co.uk/shows/the-shadow-line/series-1/episode-1/6315169386112 I fancy watching it again myself. Not sure I want to sit through ads though so might see if I can download it somewhere or wait for it to get repeated on TV. I thought you might have mentioned 'Southland'. Seem to remember you liking that a lot. I'm currently re-watching it with the missus, who never saw it when it was first on.

I thought this was going to be pre: Netflix etc only UK shizz but for me... The Wire is simply the best thing ever made. On a more emotional note 'This is Us' is amazing, the writing, editing and music selection is superb and the connections with growing up, siblings, parents etc One thing I want to watch again is 'The Shadow Line' I remember it being superb but can't find it anywhere. As for the worst, I don't watch any really female comedians or racial comedy is usually shit apart from Goodness Gracious Me.

Briano 1:01 Mon Sep 4 Coincidentally, whilst tidying up my media library I got distracted - as you do - by an episode of TDUDP set in a pub/bar and Alf was joined by the excellent Eric Sykes and a blacked-up Spike MIlligan playing an illegal Indian immigrant. Seen it many times before yet my sides still hurt 3 days later - and the woke faction would have kittens...or, for equalities sake - puppies, were they aware that this was free on the internet.. Watching Milligan trying his best to not corpse when interacting with Mitchell is worth the entrance fee alone.

Best - in recent times, impossible to pick between Detectorists and Mortimer & Whitehouse Gone Fishing, which had a superb episode just last night featuring the loveable Ted. I don't give a monkeys about the fishing - it's all about the brilliant banter between them, interspersed with the occasional bit of serious stuff about life, getting old etc. Worst: got to agree with the majority on here - Mrs Brown's Boys. Completely unwatchable. I even have to switch channels if a trailer comes on.

As others have said, how can you possibly pick one! For me the best list is something like this. UK drama: 'I, Claudius', 'Our Friends in the North' US drama: 'The Sopranos', 'Breaking Bad' UK comedy: 'Fawlty Towers', 'Blackadder', 'The Office', 'Peep Show' US comedy: 'Frasier', 'The Simpsons' (seasons 1-10 only) Worst: almost everything, as the vast majority of TV is utter shite.

Not PUGWALL, stewie? ;-) Best : The Simpsons. Hasn't lost much of it's appeal after going for 30+ years. Worst: Blue Peter. Couldn't stand that as a kid.

I’ve always stayed well clear of ‘cultural comedies’ too. Things like The Kumars and Citizen Khan - an I missing much?

Loose Women is unwatchable especially when the tubby Nolan sister opens her gob. I watched George and Mildred recently and thought the actor who played George was quite hilarious.
