"Taking to Twitter, the Italy international wrote: “Dear West Ham. “While my time in London didn’t go the way I had planned, some of my greatest life moments were made here. And for that I’m forever grateful Thank you to the players and staff for making me feel so welcome, and the fans for their continued support. “I will continue to support this fantastic club from home in Italy, and will be keeping in close touch with the lifelong friends I have made whilst in England Thank you for everything, Ciao.”"

"North Bank 12:50 Well I certainly hope it does, because if we try to play exactly the same with Scamacca in the line up instead of Antonio rather than playing to Scamacca's strengths, then it's going to be an expensive disaster just like Haller or Anderson. I can see him working really well with Bowen and Antonio. It does give us a lot more options how we set up and try to play. We should be a lot less one dimensional now. I did read though that only three of his 16 goals last season were headers, which surprised me."

Left back and pacey attacking midfielder like Zieli?Ñski and we're going places.

"Bank - Yep, IMO we need 2 more first team players, then 1 or 2 fillers maybe nearer the end of the window."

"Signing Scamacca signals a change in playing style and system, which is probably why we're pushing hard for Kostic. He looks a unit and will be a much better target man than we've had for a while and importantly he likes to get his shots off early We still have a long way to go with signings and a playmaker is essential to replace Lanzini, Onana would be a good long term signing and is undoubtedly seen as a replacement for Rice . Good signings so far, but we still need players for the starting XI and not fillers"

fraser 11:10 Wed Jul 27 Re: Gianluca Scamacca Signed To be honest it looks like West Ham have been going about this the right way. Irons in the fire Innit! As for players. Lets hope they all have the correct personality to fit in with the group. That has been the strength of the last two years. Long may it continue.

"Finally got this over the line. A striker - our first in three years! And a decent one at that. Would have preferred one or two others, but I hope this fella rips it up."

"Looking forward to seeing how he fits into the team. Wonder if Moyes will limit him to 30 minute sub appearances to start with. He should go straight in IMO - imagine an actual striker sitting on the bench watching Antonio miss a bunch of chances. Love his effort, but Antonio should be on the wing."

"Watched his goals on YT, certainly won't enjoy so much space in the Prem but seems to know where the goal is, benvenuto Gianluca!!"

Cant wait for him to see how hard and effectively Bowen works. That could go very well indeed.

"Scamacca said this ""“I feel like West Ham is the perfect team for me. They showed they really wanted me and when I spoke to the manager there was an instant understanding Really wanted him = bid for him and waited several days to see if Chelsea would sell Broja to us first :-)"

"The only fuckers that seem downbeat about the signing are a FEW West Ham fans. All the reports from Italy, from both fans and pundits, and from European football experts, seem to think we've got a potential superstar on our hands."

"I don't think he'd look out of place in a boyband with the TATTS and dyed hair, MPI. Not the front man, obvs, but one of the ones at the back who's only remit is to look good and dance."

"I think too many people take written stories on the internet as gospel. How else do we explain this myth that has built up that Scamacca wasn't Moyes choice.. Scamacca said this ""“I feel like West Ham is the perfect team for me. They showed they really wanted me and when I spoke to the manager there was an instant understanding."" Moyes said “We’ve been looking to add more strength to our attacking options for a while, so we’re delighted to have got Gianluca in,” Scamacca feels like he's wanted by us and not 2nd choice"

I've not seen anything which suggests Moyes is underwhelmed.. Though he often seems that way about most things

"I think it was suggested that Scamacca was a Newman target and Broja was who Moyes wanted, twofeet. I don't care either way. We have a striker at last."
